The Chicago Bulls are still struggling, even Josh Giddey’s recent stellar play. On Friday, they suffered their sixth straight loss, falling 120-105 to the Indiana Pacers and dropping to 9-13. Following the defeat, head coach Billy Donovan called out both Giddey and Matas Buzelis, holding them responsible for their turnovers and stressing the importance of cleaner execution.

Buzelis ended the game with six turnovers and Giddey added five, combining for 11 of the Bulls’ 18 total giveaways. Donovan acknowledged some positive plays from both, but emphasized that “decision-making has got to be better.”

Despite the turnovers, Buzelis tallied 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while going a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line. Giddey added 9 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Coby White led the team with 22 points and contributed six assists.

Buzelis is putting up 13.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while Giddey is averaging 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per outing.

Billy Donovan and the Bulls continue to lose their rhythm

Coming off the bench, Jevon Carter sank four three-pointers en route to 14 points, while Zach Collins added 8 points and grabbed six rebounds in his season debut after recovering from a left scaphoid injury.

With a game-winning jumper already to his name, Pascal Siakam extended his dominance over the Bulls in the mid-range. He converted 13 of 24 field-goal attempts, repeatedly hitting turnaround jumpers on his way to a 36-point performance.

One of the Bulls’ most pressing but under-discussed issues is their turnover trouble. They often rush in the half-court, fail to read plays effectively, and sometimes settle for contested three-pointers instead of attacking the rim.

Overall, the Bulls shoot well when they get open three-point chances, as Zach Collins demonstrated by scoring his first points of the season on one. Beyond contributors like Coby White, Matas Buzelis, and a healthy Ayo Dosunmu attacking the rim, the team struggles to produce consistent offense from long range.

The Bulls will look to refocus and host the Golden State Warriors on Sunday evening.
