A Timeline of Lamar Jackson’s Nagging Injuries
It’s been an up and down season for Lamar Jackson. He began the season with an outstanding performance in Buffalo, but a hamstring injury just three weeks later kept the two-time MVP out of action for the next three games.
Since his Week 9 return, Jackson has rushed for 15 yards or less in three of five games. Before this season, Jackson had failed to reach that same 15-yard mark in just three starts his entire career (not including the Cleveland and Denver games in ‘21 and ‘22 in which he got injured very early on).
Jackson looked solid in his first two starts after returning from injury against Miami and Minnesota, but in his most recent three starts has failed to score a touchdown in the air or on the ground (fumbles and penalties by his teammates not helping the matter).
The offense seems to have hit a wall. Jackson’s instincts simply haven’t been as sharp as they were before he was sidelined, and his nagging injuries have likely played a factor in his ability to improvise and extend plays, a quirk that made Jackson the outstanding and nearly un-defendable player he normally is.
Following Jackson’s 18-for-23, 204-yard, four-touchdown performance in Miami, he practiced in full the entire week leading into a road showdown with Minnesota.
But after that Week 10 win in Minnesota, Jackson popped up on the Wednesday injury report as a DNP with knee soreness. He returned to practice in full that Thursday, saying “things like that happen,” and after a full practice on Friday Jackson was a full go against Cleveland.
Another week brought another new ailment. He once again missed Wednesday’s practice, this time with an ankle injury. He practiced Thursday and Friday, and played once again, but wasn’t sharp in a messy 23-10 win over the New York Jets.
Jackson was asked about whether he believed injuries were impacting him after the game, to which he said, “I don’t think that at all. I just feel like we need to execute a lot better.”
Heading into a short week with the Bengals looming on Thanksgiving night, the Ravens held a walkthrough but in estimation, Jackson wouldn’t have practiced, leading to yet another initial DNP. On November 25, Jackson revealed he hurt his toe in the first quarter of the Jets game which caused him to pop up on the initial injury report.
After a rough loss on Thanksgiving, the Ravens had a few extra days off having played on Thursday night football. Many assumed Jackson would finally have his first full week of practice since before the Week 10 matchup against Minnesota, but after a limited practice on Wednesday he didn’t practice Thursday after being stepped on the day prior.
“Lamar did you get stepped on in practice?”
LJ: “Yeah I did, Wednesday, I did.”
“Wanna name any names?”
LJ: “Of who stepped on me? Nahhhh, man… That’s crazy!”@FOXBaltimore #RavensFlock pic.twitter.com/W18hGb03Jt— AJ Gersh (@AJGershTV) December 5, 2025
Thursday was the latest in the week Jackson had missed a full practice, but despite that, offensive coordinator Todd Monken said, “I would expect Lamar would play on Sunday.” Monken was right, and after a full practice on Friday, Jackson isn’t listed on the final injury report at all.
For those keeping track at home, Lamar has popped up on the injury report with hamstring, knee, toe, and ankle injuries since Week 9.
When looking at the main culprit of Baltimore’s rough offensive stretch, injuries are by far and wide the most likely culprit.
Lamar simply isn’t Lamar right now, but despite that, the Ravens still have a chance to push themselves back into the division lead.
