Notre Dame fans think Pittsburgh’s HC is campaigning to get Irish out of CFP
Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi was unable to get his team to win a meaningful contest in November to get into the College Football Playoff.
That doesn’t mean Narduzzi is against trying to put his stamp on the final bracket.
Narduzzi made a bizarre comment before losing 37-15 to Notre Dame on Nov. 15 that he didn’t care about beating the Irish because they weren’t in the ACC. His players responded via losing by three scores after ESPN’s “College GameDay” visited his sorry home crowd.
Two weeks later, the Panthers blew an opportunity to make the ACC Championship by allowing No. 12 Miami to walk all over them in a 38-7 route at Acrisure Stadium.
Did Pittsburgh HC Pat Narduzzi take a shot at ND?
A post on X by @CanesInSight went viral of an anonymous head coach’s quote published by Bruce Feldman of The Athletic. The head coach played Miami and Notre Dame, and suggested the Hurricanes were a much better team than the Fighting Irish.
“First of all, Miami beat Notre Dame, so I don’t know why Miami wouldn’t be ahead of Notre Dame,” the anonymous coach said. “That’s the dumbest thing that I’ve ever seen. I don’t understand that.. Miami’s offensive line is gigantic. Notre Dame’s O-line is good, but it ain’t Miami’s.
“And Miami’s defensive line is way better than Notre Dame’s. ND’s D-line is good, but it’s not Miami’s. Their D-line is ridiculous. And that’s why Miami beat them. The trenches are where it all starts.”

Only 3 ACC coaches have played Notre Dame and Miami
A few ACC coaches have played both teams this season: NC State’s Dave Doeren, Syracuse’s Fran Brown Jr., and Narduzzi.
Given the bad blood between ND and Pitt, most fans online think Narduzzi fired the shot at the Irish.
“One presumes it’s Narduzzi, who hates ND like it’s his job and has for decades,” posted a fan.
“Lol at narduzzi,” wrote another.
If Narduzzi was the coach quoted, his hot air spewed to make the article would be the most important thing he’s ever done in December to decide a CFP result.
