Chicago White Sox fans rejoice over the latest designating for assignment
The Chicago White Sox suffered another tough loss last night, with the Athletics coming to Chicago and giving them a good beating, winning the game by a score of 12-3. The White Sox aren’t performing the best offensively to start the year and haven’t had help, as injuries have ravaged their lineup.
Thankfully, the White Sox have one of their top prospects up with them in Chase Meidroth, who is off to a great start to his young career. Meidroth is one of the players the White Sox will look to be a cornerstone of their rebuild.
One player who will not be a part of the White Sox’s future is Mike Clevinger, who was designated for assignment by the White Sox.
Clevinger’s DFA
Clevinger’s designation for assignment comes on the heels of his poor play to begin the season, as he had over a 7.00 ERA (7.94) in eight relief outings this season. The worst part of Clevinger’s game was his walks, as he gave up eight in 5.2 innings. That’s good enough for a 12.7 walks per nine.

White Sox fans couldn’t be happier to hear the news of Clevinger’s designation for assignment, as he was not well-liked for his off-the-field issues.

Hopefully, this will mark the end of Clevinger’s time in the White Sox organization, as he brings with him negative energy. The White Sox can now focus on finding younger and better talented pitchers to fill their roster needs.
