Music: DPB: Bringing GRACE and LOVE back to RAP….

This piece, rather that Video that will be embedded here-in, or via the written (albeit, not perfect translation) Transcript… Want to Share great discussion with DPB (Rapper/Songwriter) and “Grace/Love, and its needed return to RAP/HIP-HOP” and other Principles/Values….

Yes, and apologies in advance, as if you’re a regular reader of me here on B4IN you know I have “issues” with folks that just use B4IN as a DUMPING GROUND for them to just cut/paste a Video and pretend it “an Article” like B4IN is for/about (the written word) since inception….

AT ANY RATE…. I do from time-to-time make an Exception to my own disdain for those folks that do that and do a bit of a CHEAT myself and this will be one of those times…. HOWEVER, unlike those others; that just create a DRIVE-BY POT-SHOT posting of only their Video they hope you were CLICK-BAITED by their Headline into surfing into; I at least provide TRANSCRIPT of the Video (or CTP Show episode) for those who indeed only interested in READING ARTICLES on B4IN (I used to write for/at RedState, but you can see me too over on TheLibertyBeacon) for you/them to be able to Read instead of only option (those other DARN CHEATERS offer) to click the Video embed feed.

JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  Hello everybody welcome again to Curstitutious Politics. I have with me today D.P.B. and he’s known and that stands for David Paul Brooks though I was going to joke with him. Does that stand for disco party band?
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  Yes it actually has a deeper meaning even though it is my initials it also means destiny purpose bless my whole goal is to people find the destiny purpose so they can be blessed. So there
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  you go. Wonderful I’m glad I went I normally I just joke for the sake of joking because you know things are so serious we’ve got to keep a sense of humor and the other thing I was going to joke with you is maybe it’s dad’s part-time bounty yeah they feel like your side hustle job but no it’s you your real job. Hey don’t know how to respond to that.
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  For kids to remember it and and young ones they call me David Peanut but oh they never did because I could be on a stage as somebody was saying ladies and gentlemen just call me D.P.B. all they long as soon as they get on stage B.D.P. and I’m like just not going to always remember it
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  David Peanut butter yeah okay yeah that makes sense and I was going to say right again it’s David Paul Brooks. As the other last joke I was going to say is you shortened it because it’s just cotton to constant in that way because you’re a vowel hater you hate vowels don’t you come on hold up to it yeah I do. At any rate let’s back it up right B.B.B.B. go to the usual first question who the heck is D.P.B. born raised where you at now those sorts of things okay a born raised New Yorker for sure
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  upstate New Yorker um we’re like my family are like gospel legends where I live at the Rockland community um Rockland um New York um night New York as well was born raised and and my mom started so many different choirs she actually brought gospel to Rockland County so and she ain’t playing for over like 36 choirs from quartets to everything so I was brought up with music and my mom who was a rock and roll all the famer opened up for people like James Brown, Moms Maybellie Elvis Presley all those type of people like that and coming to find out when she passed away she was actually on the billboard charts back then for juke music and um I was like wow um my mom she she was legacy like she was a startup like this whole juke music thing I was like wow this is crazy and how did you not know that growing up right right because she because at that moment she if you heard her story or if you heard the story it’ll be more like she dedicated everything to God because of all the tragedy that she went through to where that’s all we were bought up with so we didn’t know the the rock and roll model the
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  whole thing like that you know what I’m saying it was like a separate other life
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  correct so she really left that um and really dedicated to like living in front of us and there’d been my dad left so she was the mom and dad through all of us five of us there was five of us a brother and three sisters um and she was she shown us what it is to really actually live for God and see what Tess trials calm how she always relied on God so I understood that or growing up um but then even growing up man I had them going straight from all that and those types of things and of course that’s what happens very about it and and next thing you know um I used to open up for salt and pepper ll kujay I mean not l kujay but kumo d and the different ones like that and um and it was just like that was my journey to God changed my life and then I started doing what I’m doing for God and never change after 23 23 22 I’ve been doing what I’ve been doing for over 30 something years yeah yeah I was gonna joke
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  like mama had two personas there was the mama persona and then like by night she was Alice Cooper right the right role persona but I purposely bring him up but you’re kind of more like him like Alice Cooper from the Detroit area this show is based out of Detroit and you know he grew up in a Christian uh you know household and all that and like you said then straight from it but then came back to God and a lot of people consider Alice Cooper as weird as that whole get up is but really is good evil it’s right wrong it’s morals they are almost more Christian rock band than some Christian bands are and they have a lot of Christian fans
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  as I take it you do yeah for sure I got it it it I get it all from everywhere like because simple fact that people just want something positive today because of all that’s going on in the world today can there be some type of light some type of hope somewhere so if that’s if I have to do it and I was the only one do it I would do it yeah everybody didn’t like me do it like me doing it I’m gonna do it because I feel like I would want somebody to do that with me in my darkest times or something like that so I don’t mind being that person for that yeah there’s more and more of
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  that to uh state it directly the more kind of bringing positivity into rap now obviously all rock stars don’t know each other all countries stars don’t know each other all rappers don’t know each other but I had jista on a noola who’s now on Dallas on my show so I figured I’d ask you a few he’s kind of in the positive rap sub-donger rap also do you happen to know him no I don’t
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  because I created my own world I call like I stepped away from the industry to create my own world the world of dpb see what I’m saying so when you step out I just started developing relationships all around the country and it’s more friendships than I did just like hey I came did a concert here I’m done with you it ended up becoming a lot a lot of my friends so that kept me going for so many years because they knew I was real I really cared it wasn’t just like a concert to me I really cared about people and I would take time with the people instead of hanging out to Merck’s table I would take time with people and talk to him in those type of things because some people just want to be listened to and and and heard and I’ll listen and I’ll give them my advice and those type of things so I’m like a life coach mixed with music so I like that type of stuff like this shirt I got on no bad days I wrote a book no bad days oh I’m glad you mentioned that
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  I don’t have that in my notes so that’s something I’ll have to make a note about that you have that book so I can include it in the show notes and the other thing is rap I mean there are collaborations in country and rock and all that too but it doesn’t seem to be as much as in all those other genres combined as to the collaborations that come out of rap so I was thinking maybe you and G-Stuck could get to the other new collaboration because that’s also intelligent marketing right because you need introduced to his people and his people get introduced to you
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  for sure I’m okay I’m always open for stuff like that you know what I’m saying and uh um you know what I’m saying I just as long as it’s positive I’m good like as long as it’s directing people to a greater purpose in life exactly with that type of stuff yeah you you both
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  are on that same page uh in that regard and yeah there’s so much negativity and renastiness to want to be for a better greater purpose and also I wanted to move on to your up for an award which I hope hope I will be able to have you back again later we’ll put it together as one show after you win the WAM, WAM which is we are the music makers which I think would should be WAM, but they go WAM and that’s going to confuse some Michigan listeners because there is a WAM radio WAM, W because they all start with W and the United States and Arbor, Michigan radio, WAM radio so you know as the show goes on say WAM they might get confused if you get confused idea saying to you what’s the matter you why haven’t you been paying attention from the start of the show and you know the difference right but it all seriously serious yes oh I can’t talk you know the minute I hit record my mouth stops working yeah but anyway tell us how did that come about what particular award are you up for and to be frank I’ve never heard of we are the music awards before I mean there are a lot of different award shows obviously but how did that kind of all come together to be honest I have no clue
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  oh because right now because of the song undefeated that I release right now it’s up it’s F-Y-C now for the Grammy a Grammy right now so it’s for people’s consideration but hopefully it can get nominated for a Grammy but the song itself it actually has been nominated for over 20-something awards cool different different awards like so next month I think I think it’s next month I’m going to Opry Lamb because I’m the strongest up for Josie award you know I’m saying so there’s different awards that the song is up for so I
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  forgot I don’t know how it got into where but I’m thankful oh yes right somebody’s paying attention
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  so I’m excited about that I mean there’s just a different award that just come from everywhere
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  as I’m like wow and so I’m thankful for it well after you get all these awards you’re going to have to send me a picture that I can put into the video of your trophy shelf with all the awards so you mentioned one song undefeated what’s a couple what are your album titles a couple of them a couple of your songs other than the undefeated okay so you have I actually have about
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  four albums out you have RID you have 3d Pb I was trying to you flow up with 3d 3d yeah that makes me you’re thinking you’re thinking I’m called born the worship um and some other albums that a lot of people have that never was released digitally you know I mean um so after that I started releasing more singles so I got a song called I feel so good today as we speak today I just found out it’s been number one for three weeks on the independent music network charts and I’m like wow look at this this is crazy it’s number one and so and just like undefeated was number one for five weeks on on the national radio charts adult contemporary top 40 so it’s like it’s cool to see that my music causes I mean I got another song called let it go because people hold on to things a lot a lot of times and don’t know that they’re bound by the thing that they’re holding to and can’t get along with their life because of what they didn’t let it go they didn’t let it go so I got a song called let it go I got a song that is inspired by Booty go oh wait a minute wait a
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  minute this this isn’t a rip off of Disney like let it go let it go right me be a frozen movie
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  no I think let it go it’s in the song about 50 times that’s how many times let it go it’s like I will make a statement I will make a statement like um all the bitterness you have inside let it go all the prejudice you try to hide let it go time to get rid of all the pride let it go the people that hurt you you got to let it go yeah that was what you’re saying so the let it go just never stops it stays all throughout the song and I keep on mentioning things that people I know what I’ve gone through and try to free some people up from all the bitterness they may have inside
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  forgive forgiveness forgiveness isn’t about only about the other person being forgiven it is exactly it’s for you and for those looking at the bit chute brightie on rumble and youtube behind the scenes channels you see I jokingly put on the 3d glasses in honor of dvp’s 3d pb album so okay enough of that joke my audience knows I cannot pass on any lame pun like I said you know things are so serious you’ve got to be able to laugh and and you’ve got to laugh at yourself if you can’t laugh at yourself at your expense and you be the butt of a joke you got no business laughing at anybody else right I agree with that that’s the truth correct yeah absolutely absolutely I did have circled in the notes and you already mentioned though you how did it come about you happen to be there were salt and pepper that salt and pepper because that’s obviously a name even people who don’t like rap right would recognize right all right
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  so well my brother where I lived that in Rockland County my brother was a big rapper in in the city and I always wanted to follow my brother called Brooks it was like I always wanted to follow him so I said like if he can rap I want to rap then I became so good he put me part of his group that was a real big group and then we started opening up for like the salt and peppers I mean I’m old school tila rock you know kumo did my 18th birthday party you know it’s like all of them and stuff like that so you start to get once you’re there you’re there everybody knows you to do those type of things so you don’t know what who who you gonna be on the next show with on um you like rock cam like all the different ones like that you know being on the same bill as those people like that so yeah it just happened just being in New York and it’s becoming great at what you do it will make room for you that greatness will make room for you and it made room
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  19 hours on those stages yeah another down the lame pun road because with your last name Brooks we know your Christian not to us I was gonna act joke are you cut cousin of Mel Brooks yeah the boys in saddles guy you never know you never know nowadays right it just happened somewhere but not that I know well right right you just happened to share the same last name but again you know and I’m glad I can see you’re a very good natured fun-loving guy and can appreciate the bad pun so I appreciate that and you know again with everything being so serious the need for Joe and everything being so seemingly on the highway the hell at 250 miles an hour seemingly no chance of slowing down let alone doing the you turn back to good right your positive attitude and positive music is at least inching us hopefully towards that break pedal to slow down and begin that you turn process
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  for sure and it like it like there’s a Bible verse I got a happy heart is like medicine so to me that joy is something the joy of a Lord is your strength so we need laughter we need the stuff just to make somebody smile that’s why I made the song I feel so good today we when you hear the song it’s going to make you smile you’re going we’ve got no choice but just a smile like man I can conquer today this is the song yeah you know I I hope it’s a lot of knowing
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  than for else because I’m happy oh my god I hate that tune no you know we want to be but all that
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  it ain’t like that it just it just does I feel so good today that’s a you know it isn’t better I feel so good today and um and because that’s something that somebody say when something’s going
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  good man I feel good today this is a good day and your upbeat your positive can help bring like I had on the show before bullseye the clown right even just clowning around and doing stupid stuff if you can bring a smile to someone else’s face you’re doing good right it’s like the old pantine commercial they tell two people then they tell two people then you know pretty soon you got a movement you help one person smile they help another couple smile pretty soon we’re getting better as a society rather than again down that highway to help I’m gonna move on because I also see here it says you’re an actor too anything we just seen you in no I mean no no no no no no
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  we got some like what follows the song undefeated we got a mini movie um okay and then we also got like another animation we like right now we’re we’re flowing in animation so like I feel so good today which is a song that’s that’s right now just look at another chart number three on the Christian charts and it went up number eight is at the top eight on top 40 so it’s like you know the animation is like we’re dealing with stuff like an animation that we have on youtube it deals with anti-bullying you know what I’m saying because it’s a big thing like oh it is yeah that’s the
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  whole reason bullseye the clown was on he would have bullied that’s why he found you know the humor and the clowning and he does the same thing he’s all about the anti-bullying message although I dare say I don’t think it’s ever going to be eliminated it’s kind of a part of life but to some degree the amount of it and over that people understand that hey that was just kind of a part of life then and a phase of life it isn’t only what makes you you and you can use that to build something good upon later for sure yeah and it also also says in Michael Stover’s press package for you that I’m I’m on his email list so that’s how I came across you uh mentioned you have a clothing line I do like my t-shirts I would I wish I had
DPB (David Paul Brooks):  I got just t-shirts for days I got a sneaker uh what else I got I’m trying to see if I could show you something but I’m saying here’s but like like you know like I like like you go a t-shirt right here I’m in god mode because I got a so-called god mode matter of fact I can change the bible but here go a souvenir bible that I made
JOSEPH M LENARD (HOST):  you know it just stuff that’s kind of like uh Lee Greenwood right the country guy the god blushed the USA song that everybody knows has become a patriot anthem he also released a patriot bible so yeah anything that helps go beyond preaching to the existing choir is a good thing any angle extra because a lot of people are down on that they’re like but yeah uh no the bible scatter you know the black cover say holy bible that’s it nothing but anything that can help market it a little better to bring people to it I see is a positive thing as long as like you said you’re not changing the words inside all right I’m not changing no words inside at all I would never do that although that’s in part why I have this show I say it’s not a catholic show a baptist show a message show an adventure show a Protestant or a yada yada all the different brands and flavors our bibles can and do very a bit translated some somewhat differently from Aramaic, clatin, Hebrew and Greek like I talk all the time Matthew 7 isn’t judge not it is condemn not because there are 12 other scriptures that tell you exactly to judge and how you are to judge so you know little things we all get different but we got to focus together on the things under christ we agree on rather than let satan win keeping those at each other’s throats about oh that word is different in your bible you’re not a real Christian no no satan wins when we do that you’re right we’re exactly right it’s the word man okay indeed at any rate that’s an ongoing joke around here now you know a lot of you got to avoid the odds and the umbs in a podcast well I started saying as a segue crutch at any rate so now it’s kind of like a a trademark of me I say it all the time so indeed at any rate I try to keep my shows also as a relatively smaller rate you know I could talk with people for three five eight hours but then nobody’s going to tune in right so let’s wrap it up pun intended see what I did there I’ll wrap it up and indeed where do people find you where can they reach out you have a website and that sort of thing yes well um everything that you can

But first a brief reprise about Movies – I hope you all caught “They Live” 35th Anniversary this year (while showing in many Theaters September 2023) and if not at Theaters please rent or stream it after you read this. Reminder: “They Live” an early John Carpenter (Writer/Director) piece where he dared to go down ChristiTutionalist Politics line before I coined the term and “Aliens” (the E.T. variety) as stand-in for the #DeepState always moving and manipulating behind scenes. Human-nature of those willing to go-along-to-get-along to Cash in for themselves. The 15-minute (minor exaggeration) I hinted at in the Movies pieces is great metaphorical outline for the verbal back-and-forth we often have with DUMBocrats to get them to see Reality!

AN ANTI-CRIME and ANTI-VIOLENCE piece, but if/when push comes to shove that we do have a Right to Defend ourselves from it. To protect and prevent our Communities being Arsoned to the ground by ANTIFA and #BlackLyingMarxist Hitlerian Brown-Shirt thugs.

Only the Left and their constant Race-baiting have the gall to say scenes (that show people of ALL RACES) is somehow Racist as an indictment of Black people? Who are the Racists? They are, if they say crime automatically equals Black people! Meanwhile scuttling #BidenCrimeFamily investigations and still creating major reach (stretching beyond all credulity of those Laws intent) on Statutes to try to charge POTUS45/Trump! Spare us the “What about the Lynching that took place at that Courthouse a hundred years ago” manure that no-one knew about until the Leftists #ENEMEdia desperate for a Talking-Point managed to dig up that History. I guess the Hannah Montana and the Christmas Movie filmed there are now also Racist (just like they tried to deem Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” as somehow Racist). When are Black Americans going to wake up to this pathetic and desperate Race-baiting?!?! Whom, in Poll after Poll show they want more police protection from the runaway and rampant Crime happening due to FASCICRATS weak-on-Crime and other failing policies!!!

Thank you to all that emailed or called CMT or Cable Companies that carry CMT and let them know they would like CMT pulled from their line-up as money will be the only thing they understand. As discussed in the BIDENomics pieces they chase the Woke ESG pennies, we must make then suffer huge dollar loses until they learn to stop pandering to the Cancel Culture manure.

That’s now Movies, Music, but what about TV? May as well take a pot-shot at that too?!?!  I had for decades hoped we’d get a reboot of “The Streets of San Francisco;” like Hawaii Five-O was, and Magnum P.I. was; and while I liked those originals (I did not tune-in for those reboots) but that was long before Newsome, Piglosi, others, have completely destroyed it over these last couple of decades. So, maybe best we can hope for is reboot of Adam-12; though that was set in L.A. which has equally degraded into one of Dante’s layers of Hell, but maybe could be reset into a different City; as a method of bringing traditional values and BACK THE BLUE back; as opposed to all the Trash we’re getting these days (like, sadly, the reboot of Quantum Leap went all WOKE)?!?!?

Some final thoughts:

Now after three-parts total of/for “Movies and Politics (Music and TV tacked on in part 3)” I could go on forever, and probably no surprise to anyone that is a regular reader of mine that at some time in near future I would have a part three (more on Movies, and to pivot to Music and TV) as I now have! 

Follow-up to the piece a few weeks back discussion of one of my all-time favorite Directors/Producers Roland Emmerich (and the part 2 “Movies, Snacks, Politics” piece): Many know Toby and/or Noah Emmerich, two of the people involved in/with the great Movie CELLULAR (with Noah Emmerich*, Chris Evans, Jason Statham, William H. Macy, Kim Bassinger, more) I just rented (via my DISHnetwork OnDemand feature (sign-up with my VCD0026116345 referral code for discounts)) to watch again as it is an A+ (remember, when that film came out was just at the time of proliferation of Cell phones with advanced features and therefore absolute genius script at that time). A good “temporary escape from Politics film.” From GOOGLE (about Noah): On television, the native New Yorker was a series regular on BACKWASH and played the despondent Dr. Edwin Jenner in the two-part Season 1 finale of THE WALKING DEAD. Emmerich’s brother is film producer Toby Emmerich, but they are not, Emmerich explains, related to Director/Producer Roland Emmerich.

A response I made to someone (SMS Texts, back and forth) in regard to their saying a recent CTP Show “BrainDead (well that’s a harsh title LOL) part 1″ (https://www.buzzsprout.com/2210487/14431880-christitutionalist-politics-s1e33-brain-dead-folks-part-1-well-this-is-a-harsh-show-title-lol) was/is “thoughtful”…

Thx for the feedback on BrainDead1 episode (he will be on my Show soon for an already “Listener Feedback” mini-episode in next several weeks (end of February or early March 2024) when he wanted to react and talk about S1E13 “Censorship” Show) I indeed go for “thoughtful” (always, logic and reason and facts) though I have addressed that sometimes I may indeed get HOT/ANIMATED and sound more like raving lunatic (Leftist) at times (while “spirited” in “tone” and action – still using logic/reason/strategy but just a bit more “passionately” delivered (see related https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bc5yiLorRF0 1m YouTube Short on that))! LOL Thankfully those number of Shows are the exceptions and not the Rule. I am always going for “not the same ole talking-point takes of the usual suspect talking-head parrots” (there is Hannity and a million others for the same-ole bs parrot responses (though, not to say, sometimes a particular talking-point oft heard is not worth repeating too, but parroting cannot be one’s ONE TRICK (and sadly too many are just parrots (or One-Trick-Pony, if you prefer) with never any originality — AT ALL, EVER (at least if delivering the same basic “topics” have some reasonable different approach or other “angle” of delivery than same mono-tone talking-head resting face and voice))).
