Chicago Bulls lottery odds revealed going into season finale
The 2025-26 NBA regular season will wrap up on Sunday as the league prepares for the play-in round and then the playoffs next weekend. For the Chicago Bulls, they won’t return to the play-in round and will now turn their attention to the offseason.
Last week, the Bulls opted to move on from both Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley, going in a new direction. It was a ‘bold’ move for the franchise after years of the same result. But now, they have to get things right.
With the search beginning for two front office members, the Bulls will enter this offseason with a good amount of cap space and a lottery pick, potentially two depending on the Portland pick and where they finish. But for the Bulls pick, Sunday’s finale against the Dallas Mavericks has some implications on their lottery position.
Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks battling for lottery odds
The Bulls enter the season finale sitting in ninth in the lottery standings. They can’t get to eighth and they can’t finish worse than tenth as the Milwaukee Bucks are there just one game better than the Bulls. And while it may not seem like a big deal between the two spots, the odds say different.
Bulls’ beat writer K.C. Johnson broke down the odds depending on the finishes from Sunday. The difference between finishing at No. 9 and No. 10 is close to seven percent getting into the top four. It’s one percent difference to get the No. 1 pick:
9th-best odds: 20.3% for top 4, 4.5% for No. 1 pick
10th-best odds: 13.9% for top-4, 3.5 for No. 1 pick
Bucks beat Nets. If this Bulls’ deficit holds, they’ll enter Sunday finale with 9th-best lottery odds but only 1 game “lead” over Bucks
Sunday: Bucks at 76ers. Bulls at Mavs
9th-best odds: 20.3% for top 4, 4.5% for No. 1 pick

All the Bulls need is a loss to the Mavericks or a Bucks win over the 76ers to get that No. 9 pick in the draft. If they tie, it will go to a tie-breaking coin flip, similar to last year when the Mavericks won it and then eventually got the No. 1 pick.
This could be an important game for the Bulls’ rebuild.
