Chicago Bears could be about to be heading to international game
The Chicago Bears might have to pack their bags for an extended road trip.
As the NFL continues to expand its international reach, and broaden its slate of international games, signs could be pointing to the Bears being one of the teams playing abroad during the 2026 season.
Could the Chicago Bears be earmarked for a Madrid, Spain game in 2026?
Monday, as Super Bowl week kicked off in earnest, the NFL announced several of its venues for International Series games in 2026, including a game set to be played in Madrid, Spain.
In the press release from the league announcing the game, there’s a noteworthy hit on why the Bears may be a favorite to take Madrid by storm sometime next fall.
The Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins have marketing rights in Spain as part of the league’s Global Markets Program, an initiative that awards NFL clubs marketing rights in markets outside of the U.S. to build brand awareness and fandom through fan engagement, events and commercial opportunities.
Back in 2024, the Philadelphia Eagles played in the first International Series game in Brazil, after having previously been awarded Brazil as an international hub, so it would make sense for Chicago to follow suit and play a game where the franchise has international rights.
