Nobody has had a better conference championship weekend than No. 10 Notre Dame.

One by one, the dominos have fallen in the Irish’s favor starting with Boise State’s win over UNLV in the Mountain West championship on Friday night.
On Saturday, No. 4 Texas Tech defeated No. 11 BYU 34-7 in the Big 12 championship, keeping the conference from having two teams in the College Football Playoff. Then, No. 3 Georgia blew out No. 9 Alabama 28-7 in the SEC championship.

The Irish should move above the Crimson Tide in the final ranking.
However, if ND is left out of the CFP, Brad Crawford of 247 Sports is reporting the Irish are expected to play BYU in the Pop-Tarts Bowl on Dec. 27 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando Florida.
“We’ll likely see Notre Dame vs. BYU in the Pop-Tarts Bowl if the Fighting Irish are not selected for the College Football Playoff, a bowl source confirms to @CBSSports,” Crawford posted on X.

Following the report, fans online had strong reactions to the possible matchup between the two loss programs.

“Why are we assuming ND isn’t making it?” asked a fan.
“So you can see BYU get blown off the field again? Take a really good look at what ND has been doing to teams since the 2nd half of the game against Purdue. I’m sure Vegas has a “what if” line out there, and I’m betting ND is favored by double digits,” argued a poster.
“ND at 9, Bama at 10, BYU at 11, Miami at 12. ND and Miami H2H doesn’t matter as they won’t be compared by the committee if they are not adjacent in the rankings. ND and Bama will be in,” believes a fan.
“Honestly Miami and ND belong in the CFP but if the team that doesn’t get in draws BYU I want that beatdown to commence. Good lord do they look small, slow, and just completely overrated. Either ND or Miami will bully the crap out of them and the college football world needs to see it,” posted another.
A meaningless game?
“If Notre dame doesn’t make it they should sit out let the network that lobbied against them feel the pain of not having Notre dame for there ratings. Notre dame matters to networks it brings them money. Sit out of a bowl named after pop tarts,” thinks a fan.
“That would be a great match up but inferior bowl game,” wrote a poster.
“And it’s a meaningless game,” argued another.
Following Saturday’s results, the Irish are more than likely going to the CFP. The tarts bowl would just be stale.
