OTL: Ravens TEs Set Up for a Thanksgiving Feast?
After a tumultuous start to the 2025 NFL season (to say the least), the Baltimore Ravens are back where they belong – atop the AFC North:

You could argue much of that is due to the seemingly annual Pittsburgh Steelers collapse, but I choose to give Baltimore credit where it’s due. All NFL teams are tough to beat, making a 5-game winning streak impressive regardless of circumstances.
Still, it’s hard to argue against the idea that there’s more to prove, and this week’s power rankings round-up shows that:

With unconvincing wins over the Browns and Jets in recent weeks, Thursday’s Thanksgiving matchup with the Bengals could be the Ravens’ chance to make a statement in primetime – something they’ve failed to do twice already this season.
If they’re able to, what might their Super Bowl odds look like?

As is the case with any AFC North matchup, things won’t be easy. And to make matters worse, Joe Burrow looks likely to return and the Bengals still have something to play for:
From the, “So you’re saying there’s a chance” department:
9-8 could very well win the AFCN.
Ravens and Steelers each at 5 losses.
If Bengals win out, that’s 9-8 and could do it for the division title.
CIN winning out would therefore mean two more losses for BAL, so that’s… https://t.co/SZDFJzfOvp

If Burrow continues the pace he’s been on, Cincinnati will pose a serious threat:

Ravens fans won’t need a reminder of the numbers the Bengals offense has put up against them, either. Namely, Ja’Marr Chase (who’s also set to return from suspension) will continue to be priority #1:

Despite those absolutely ridiculous performances, the Ravens have had the last laugh more times than not, especially with QB Lamar Jackson at the helm:

So, how does Baltimore get the job done? First and foremost, the health of Jackson, S Kyle Hamilton, and WR Rashod Bateman will be key. Luckily, things are looking up:

WR Rashod Bateman said he felt good out there at practice today and hopes to be full go for Thursday.
On another note, OLB Tavius Robinson (broken foot) walked by barefoot with a seemingly natural gait. He was injured Oct. 12, and this is the sixth week since.

Second, in dealing with Chase, Baltimore’s secondary has to continue their ascension. While Hamilton’s health will again be key to that (and all things defense), could CB Nate Wiggins have a coming out party? Both will need to step up again to keep the Bengals in check:

Third, Baltimore’s pass rush must take advantage of Cincinnati’s uninspiring O-Line. With Dre’mont Jones announcing his arrival last week and Mike Green continuing to develop, fans should feel more secure in the Ravens’ ability to generate pass rush, but consistency remains a concern:

— Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiec) November 25, 2025
Interestingly, the Ravens have continued to give snaps to David Ojabo, which Pedro H. Rhormes highlights here:
I wish we could see how much Carl Lawson could contribute to our pass rush. I don’t see how replacing David Ojabo with him could hurt us. Ojabo has been playing very poorly and has had almost no impact whatsoever. This is definitely a low-risk, high-reward move.
— Pedro H. Rhormes (@rhormes_) November 25, 2025
While it’s entirely possible that coaches prefer Ojabo to DE Carl Lawson, my hunch is that some roster manipulation is going on. With easier opponents in weeks past, could Baltimore be saving Lawson for an end-of-season push before having to elevate him to the 53-man roster?
Regardless, let’s hope they get home early and often this week.
On the other side, we know all about Cincinnati’s overarching defensive issues. Interestingly, though, Charlie Goldsmith was amongst a slew of media members and fans highlighting a specific issue that could bode well for Baltimore:
The Steelers started a trend that the Patriots followed against the Bengals’ defense, and it’s a concept that the Bengals’ coaches have to find some better answers to help their linebackers with going forward.
It’s teams going with two tight ends, forcing the Bengals to match…

Mark Andrews

The #Bengals vs. dusty TE situation is out of control:
Wk 12: Hunter Henry 7-115-1
Wk 11: Darnell Washington 4-67-0
Wk 10: Bye
Wk 9: Colston Loveland 6-118-2
Wk 8: Mason Taylor 5-34-1
Wk 7: Pat Freiermuth 5-111-2
Wk 6: Tucker Kraft 2-43-1
Wk 5: Sam LaPorta 5-92-1
Wk 4: Evan…— Adam Levitan (@adamlevitan) November 24, 2025
Needless to say, the Ravens love two TE sets. With two reliable, high-performing players at the position, they should be set up for success on Thursday night. And, with both Likely and Andrews being safety blankets we’ve seen Jackson rely on before, the QB has a good chance to get things rolling.
Time will tell, but this could be the game that really gets Baltimore back on the map.
