Does N-Acetyl Cysteine Attract Unicorns???

Just a heads up. I went in to a chain vitamin store in Southern California to by some N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC). I was informed by the person that worked there that that the FDA had “changed it to prescription only”. I believe that actually the FDA has decided that because NAC was first marketed and sold as a drug it could not be marketed and sold as a food supplement. What a coincidence. NAC is potentially effective treatment for the new “deadly” virus so this safe non-prescription OTC drug could at best, scarce and worst case, a prescription will be needed. We will see. This coincidence happens at about the same time that the very safe and potentially effective treatment for the virus, (HCL) Hydroxychloroquine is declared to be unsafe. Good luck getting a prescription.

In regard to NAC, perhaps in the future the problem will be in the marketing of it. Since there are still on line sources for NAC, perhaps this is just a scare tactic? It has become a “D R U G” again. Self-medicating are we? Sounds like you think you are smarter than your doctor (visions of grandeur). Or perhaps the problem / solution is in the marketing. You may be aware of many of the uses for baking soda. These include, cooking cleaning and medicinal. For now, no prescription needed.

NAC may have uses besides ingestion by humans. As soon as I acquire more I certainly must test it to see if it works even marginally well as a laundry stain pre-treatment. In the meantime, in theory, it should make a fine Unicorn Attractant (UA). In theory unicorns are unbelievably smart and clever as they have evaded capture (even on film) for years. They must also have a keen sense of smell rivaling that of dogs. This would be essential in their physiological array of early detections abilities to warn of the presence of any humans for miles around.

Perhaps (in theory of course) the smell of NAC which is undetectable by humans, would attract unicorns for the purpose of telephoto photography). Their superior intellect would no doubt alert them to the inherent value of NAC based on smell alone.

One might want to stock up on such unicorn attractants while they are still available over the counter, such as:

Vitamin C

Quercetin and Zinc

Bulk ascorbic acid.

Baking soda

And others.

You do know that if toys for Christmas can be stuck on a ship in the port of Los Angeles, So can Unicorn attractants. Nod and a wink. Shop early and often. It may be a long winter.

“Listen, do you smell something?” Perhaps that FDA brain fart was a warning shot of things to come.
