The FIRST Seal is About to Be Opened – The White Horse – Oh How he Mocks Jesus Christ.

I remember watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony in Paris 20024, and what I saw sent feelings of darkness shooting throughout my body. It was a rider on a white horse as it entered the arena, with a lighted display of wings in the background, as it perfectly lined up with the incoming horse. This white horse was the first in the parade of athletes and events to come in the games.

The world was announcing the coming of an important character, and He would be referred to in the book of Revelation as, “The rider on a white horse.”

1. The First White Horse – The Great Deceiver (Revelation 6:2)

“And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”

What will begin as MANY of the counterfeit displays of satan, mimicking Jesus Christ, this rider of a white horse appears first in the Tribulation Period, during the opening of the first seal. Many interpret this as a symbol of conquest, and some assume it might be Christ—but a deeper look reveals it is not.

Key Clues:

• He has a bow – but no arrows. He conquers through deception, not war.
• A crown is given to him – not earned, as Christ’s is. He receives temporary authority.
• He goes forth conquering – a symbol of aggressive expansion, likely through false peace (see Daniel 8:25, “by peace shall destroy many”).

This rider is a false Christ, mimicking Jesus to mislead the world. He represents the beginning of the Great Tribulation, ushering in a period of false hope, global deception, and eventual destruction.

This is the Antichrist, the counterfeit savior. Can you see his intentions of pretending to be Jesus Christ in his actions to falsely mimic the scriptural events of Christs return upon earth?

There is another Rider of a White Horse, literally…Jesus Christ, that will descend from the clouds in the last days. But He is something very different. So, how do we know the differences between these two Rides of the White Horse? Let’s take a look.

2. The Second White Horse – The Faithful and True (Revelation 19:11-16)

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.”
— Revelation 19:11, KJV

This second rider is unmistakably Jesus Christ, returning in glory at the end of the Tribulation to judge and wage righteous war against the wicked.

Key Descriptions:

• Called “Faithful and True” – unlike the deceiver of chapter 6.
• Eyes as a flame of fire – symbolizing divine judgment (v. 12).
• Many crowns on His head – earned and rightful authority, not borrowed.
• Clothed in a vesture dipped in blood – His own sacrifice and coming vengeance (v. 13).
• Name: The Word of God – clearly identifying Him as Jesus (John 1:1).
• Out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword – representing the power of His Word (v. 15).
• He ruleth with a rod of iron – absolute authority and fulfillment of Psalm 2.

This is the true Christ, returning not as a lamb, but as a lion, to defeat the Beast, the False Prophet, and all who follow them.

3. Why the Confusion? Satan Imitates Christ

Satan has always sought to counterfeit God’s truth.

“For Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
— 2 Corinthians 11:14, KJV

Just as Satan deceives by appearing righteous, the Antichrist imitates Christ to fool the world. The white horse, the crown, even the image of peace – it’s all part of the great delusion.

But the discerning believer, filled with the Spirit and grounded in Scripture, will know the difference.

Which Rider Are You Waiting For?

Many in the last days will embrace the first white horse, thinking they’ve found peace. But that false peace will crumble. Only the second rider – Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords – can bring true and lasting victory.

The Antichrist goes forth to conquer, but Jesus returns to reign.

“Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.”
— Revelation 22:7, KJV

Don’t be deceived by the imitation. Cling to the Word of God, watch the signs, and look for the true white horse, the one from Heaven.

Once again, the identifying factor that we are watching for is the one who makes the 7-year peace agreement with Israel possible. Will he actually be introduced to the world on a white horse? We will have to wait and see. This might be symbolic, or it could actually be physically portrayed as him on the white horse. I can certainly imagine him riding a white horse in some ceremonial celebration from him creating a document that will bring peace into the world. Can you too picture this happening?

Since we’ve just discussed the first seal, what are the other seals that are coming, and what do the mean?

The seals in Revelation come in a precise, chronological sequence, each one opened by the Lamb, unveiling new events of judgment and tribulation on earth.

Here’s a brief outline of the first six seals, in order (all from Revelation 6):

1. First Seal – White Horse: Antichrist, false peace (Rev. 6:1–2)
2. Second Seal – Red Horse: War, bloodshed (Rev. 6:3–4)
3. Third Seal – Black Horse: Famine, economic collapse (Rev. 6:5–6)
4. Fourth Seal – Pale Horse: Death and Hell, mass death by various means (Rev. 6:7–8)
5. Fifth Seal – Martyrs: Souls of those slain for the Word of God cry out (Rev. 6:9–11)
6. Sixth Seal – Great Earthquake: Cosmic disturbances, fear of God’s wrath (Rev. 6:12–17)

Then comes a pause before the Seventh Seal (Revelation 8), which opens into the seven trumpets — a deeper level of judgment.

The first seal marks the beginning of the 7-year Tribulation. It is critical because it sets the tone: things may start with peace or order, but it’s false. Deception opens the floodgates for war, famine, death, and eventually full divine judgment.

The true Christ opens the seals, but the first visible player is a false Christ — the Antichrist.

“Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
