Theology and Politics from a Conservative, Biblical Perspective

Quick updates:

My Wife
Aside from migraines after her recent procedure, my wife is doing well. She personally spoke with the doctor from home after her major ablations and he indicated that migraines often occur after this type of medical procedure in smaller women. It stems from the fact that they had to pierce the inner heart wall in order to ablate the four pulmonary veins. This usually resolves itself within a few months, but it can take up to a year for the tiny hole to heal. She has had no AFIB events since the procedure.

We thank you for your continued prayers for her (and me) as we go through this together.

The Rapture
Again? Yes, apparently, the first date in September was not the real one and the October 7 date just passed was not the actual date either. Now, a new date of October 15-16 is when the real Rapture will take place.[1] This has gone beyond stupidity. It’s people who refuse to admit they were wrong and they are simply digging an ever-larger hole for themselves.

Seven Mountain Mandate
I posted an article recently titled, October 7th in which I noted that an insidious and incorrect biblical belief/doctrine exists today called Dominionism.[2] It has other names or offshoots like Seven Mountain Mandate. What these ultimately refer to is the belief that as Christians work hard to change for the better. Ultimately, this will then lead to Jesus being able to return to this world to set up His Kingdom over the entire earth. This is Dominionism in a nutshell. The saving of souls moves to the background in favor of overall societal improvement.

Seven Mountain Mandate, narrows things down further. Those who have embraced this Seven Mountain Mandate, believe that Christians should be thoroughly involved in the seven main areas of society in order to take back control. Those seven areas are:

  1. Education
  2. Government
  3. Religion
  4. Family
  5. Business
  6. Media
  7. Entertainment

All of the above categories, according to New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), are said to come under the authority of today’s so-called apostles and prophets. So, as Christians become more and more involved in those areas of society, the belief is that Christianity itself will then take over those areas and together, will catapult society toward a new era, one in which God is in control, allowing His grace and blessing to be shed more fully onto global society. This then will eventually and ultimately give way to the coming of Jesus who will then “take it from there” and set up His Millennial Kingdom over all the earth, reigning from His “father” David’s throne in Jerusalem. More on Seven Mountain Mandate can be found at this link from Got Questions.[3]

An article landed in my inbox yesterday that touches on this very subject. The author – Joe Hawkins – rightly points out that Dominionism and Seven Mountain Mandate stem from the biblically illegitimate movement of NAR.

This vision [of NAR] departs dramatically from the historic Christian faith. Scripture affirms that the foundation of the church was laid by the apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:20), with Christ as the cornerstone. The office of apostle in that foundational sense is not ongoing. Yet the NAR insists that new apostles are necessary to lead the church into “dominion.”

As the author also notes, “Central to NAR teaching is the Seven Mountains Mandate, the belief that Christians are called to take authority over seven key spheres of society in order to establish God’s kingdom on earth.” There are obvious problems with the beliefs in either Dominionism and Seven Mountain Mandate. These beliefs are largely and primarily determined from “apostles” and “prophets” of today giving “words” as though from the LORD. In fact, you will not find these doctrines in the Bible at all, so it makes sense that there has been extrabiblical revelation, alleging to be from God Himself.

So it then becomes the Christian’s job to take “dominion” over those seven areas in order to help create God’s Kingdom on earth and hand it over to Jesus when He returns. However, when we simply consider Scripture itself, as noted, this is nowhere mentioned. In fact, the exact opposite is prophesied in Scripture to occur in this world prior to the physical return of Jesus. In fact, when Jesus does return physically, He will do so as most of the world under the leadership of the coming Antichrist, gathers to come against Him. This is the Battle of Armageddon that is highlighted in many books including Revelation, throughout Scripture.

While Christians are indeed called to be salt and light in the world (Matthew 5:13–16), the NAR twists this call into a quest for dominion—a human effort to seize control over society’s institutions. This is not the gospel of Christ, but a political and cultural program disguised as spiritual mission.

In no sense, does one gain a picture of peaceful transcendence toward the biblical eutopia of Christ’s reign during the Millennium through a growing dominionism or mandate. That’s not even part of the Great Commission of Matthew 28. His Kingdom comes as a result of massive upheaval throughout the world during the coming seven-year Tribulation period, where it builds to a final confrontation with Jesus as He returns and instantly gains victory over the Antichrist and his armies. But it’s all about God’s timing, not our alleged building. He returns when He returns, not because of anything we do.

There is nothing wrong with being a Christian who participates in aspects of society and that includes all seven categories listed above. The problem comes in when Christians believe it is their duty to enter into one or more of those categories for the purpose of changing society. The emphasis should remain on introducing people to Jesus for salvation, not attempting to change society so that it looks and feels better.

Certainly, on one hand, as people dedicate themselves to following the Lord after becoming authentically saved, they will hopefully impact the lives of others, making an indelible mark on them and they will in turn make a mark on other people as well. But to go into the seven areas listed above solely in an attempt to change society, so that it makes the world a better place, eventually allowing Jesus to physically return is simply not taught in Scripture. It’s a satanic deception.

Sadly, Charlie Kirk was an individual who apparently believed in the Seven Mountain Mandate. Admittedly, I did not know much about Kirk until after he was viciously and cowardly murdered. I knew of him through some of his debates with students and I always marveled at the way he was very quick with his accurate responses, but how he also allowed students to say what they wanted to say. The give and take was great to watch.

However, it appears that in some ways, Kirk was not really the theologian he should have been and that’s okay. He knows the truth now as we will all learn the truth when we stand before our Lord. I am not attacking Kirk or simply being critical of him for the sake of being critical. I am pointing out the fact that he was not an educated learned theologian. He was a young man who loved the Lord and his family as well as the young people he tried desperately to minister to as often as possible; young people who were fed a steady diet of Marxism on the college/university campuses they chose to attend. I’m glad he did what he did.

However, like those who keep following and getting excited about the latest Rapture date, there are those within Christendom who firmly believe that all it takes is for Christians to get going, get involved in the seven categories of society, and things will change for the better. All of this will lead to the physical return of Jesus.

The book of the image shown above by Matthew Boedy, is where he takes a decidedly Leftist view of Seven Mountains Mandate. His book was recently reviewed by Mother Jones, a far Left online news source.[4] I haven’t finished reading it, but he gets a number of things right. However, notice how he says that this mandate will ultimately destroy “democracy.” The Left loves to refer to our Constitutional Republic as a “democracy,” which to me, proves they are simply uneducated about the difference. It’s allegedly fine though when those on the Left call for violent resistance against conservatives. Reminds me of Clodius’ tactics and antics of ancient Rome (maybe we’ll discuss him soon). Suffice it to say what goes around, comes around.

Nonetheless, what Leftists mean is that if Christians are allowed, America will become a theocracy, and in doing so, will destroy what is considered to be democracy. Of course, what they never seem to realize is that their own pushing of Marxism is what is destroying America’s Constitutional Republic.

Christians have every right to be involved in every aspect of society, whether it’s education, government, entertainment, family or the others. No one should be able to stop a Christian from running for office. However, I have a concern when Christians try to change the flavor and tone of society through the imposition of rules or the Mosaic Law (or Noahide Laws[5]). Jesus changes the heart in those who come to Him in faith for salvation. The Law has never saved anyone and while we need laws in order to create a safe/better society, laws alone do not provide what people actually need. Laws are external while authentic salvation is internal.

But in another example, the Left doesn’t seem to mind that the educational system has many teachers and para-educators who are decidedly far left or even fully Marxist, which by its nature is fully at odds with America’s Constitutional Republic. Those educators push all sorts of aberrant ideologies and we saw this first hand under the Obama and Biden administrations. Why should they get to push their ideologies and Christians are not allowed to push theirs? The Left does not want Christians to be partners in society. They want Christians to keep their “religion” to Sundays and not talk about it publicly.

These very same Leftists have zero problem with Islam, however, because both groups hate Christianity. In spite of the fascist nature of Islam, its treatment of women and those who disagree with Islam, the Left is virtually silent about Islam. In fact, the Left seems to widely open the door to those folks, inviting them in, protecting them and even giving them whatever support they are deemed to need, whether they are here legally or not.

In effect, doing this is what is destroying “democracy,” but the Left is either blind to it or deliberately refuses to notice what they are doing. In actuality, they favor it because they know of the continued upheaval it will cause in society as we see in the UK as well as in Dearborn(istan), MI, etc.

Seven Mountain Mandate people believe gaining control of the seven categories will ultimately change things to the point where Jesus will be “able” to return physically to this earth as humanity gives Him His Kingdom. Dominionism believes the same thing in essence. This is patently absurd and goes against Scripture.

As Joe Hawkins notes in his article, there are several reasons why Seven Mountain Mandate is unscriptural:

  1. It is based on extra-Biblical revelation
  2. It is decidedly man-centered, not Christ centered
  3. It assumes a false apostolic authority that does not exist today in living people
  4. It dilutes the Gospel badly by replacing authentic salvation with a social or political agenda

None of this should surprise us, but too many are falling for it. Steer clear of NAR and all its tenets. The Bible should be your guide, not modern voices claiming to have direct revelation from God Himself.
