AL: Mobile - Armed Man stops Man Firing into Crowded Club
A man who fired a fatal shot at a nightclub on Saturday was defending himself and others, Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood said Monday.
When police responded to an emergency call Saturday at the establishment on Navco Road, they found 56-year-old Roderic Williams dead in the parking lot. Blackwood said it appears Williams was the aggressor.
“I believe that there was some kind of disagreement that sparked all of this,” he said. “Our deceased individual, unfortunately, it appears he made some really bad decisions and suffered the consequences of those decisions.”
According to police, the shooting took place outside the club, but four people who were inside suffered gunshot wounds when bullets went through the wall. They went to the hospital with injuries the police described as not life-threatening.
