Do you love fashion, if so, we are sure you are a fan of Stacy London, and why not, after all, she has been ruling the fashion world for last 15 years, offering a complete makeover to our wardrobes one by one.
Our love for her is not only limited to one reason, as many quotes that we love her because she wrote a perfect book on fashion, but there are many things that make us awe the fashionista.
London in a statement once said you must know how important Fashion is for us. It is not only what we wear but also how we feel. In better worlds, fashion is a way we express our emotions and creativity.
Stacy London was recently interviewed by Man Repeller and it was something you must know about. The lady had an excellent interview and confessed that becoming old has helped her lot to grow her style. She also added that how all the fashion rules is completely Bull Shit.
The lady says that the days when strict fashion rules were the guide are over. We’ve left the idea of ‘how to’ dressing culture behind and have embraced more of a ‘me too’ sense of style.
“In my ‘What Not to Wear’ days, I was all about telling people exactly what to do. We gave actual rules, for Chrissakes. I don’t really believe in that anymore, says London. The advice I give now is much more about understanding what someone wants to convey and feel, and I try to help them get there.
I’m happy to provide guard rails so you don’t go careening off the road but I’m not going to pick the make, model and color of the car for you.”
She further states that fashion is about how you reveal your awesomeness rather how you hide inside a piece of cloth.
I always feel somewhat powerful. My style either reflects that power or it’s meant to coax it out of me when I’m not feeling it,” she says.
Adding further the amazing fashion goddess says, “That could be a suit or something sparkly, depends on the day,” There is nothing in the fashion world that can be claimed to be “too old”.
In fact, it is good if you change your fashion with time and your age, says London. “I started to notice my own aging when the clothes I used to wear didn’t feel the same anymore,” Stacy says. “
I began to feel my age deserved a uniform that was in keeping with the depth and breadth of my experience… I want to savor age and experience, not waste my time trying to hold on to what I looked like at 30.
I want my style to reflect my beliefs about that.” She advocates following your heart when it comes to fashion. For her, the fashion today is Cobb Hill flat shoes, suits, jumpsuits and more.
We all have that I hate my outfit day when asked Stacy about the same she gave us an advice, “Put on some lipstick and handle your shit anyway.”
Stacy also opens up on many aspects of her life, one being the constant pressure to live up to the image that she is known for. She was never into those floral dresses, A-line skirts & pencil skirts as she appeared during her TV hosts day.
She loves to be what she is today, in her words, “I’ve evolved, I’ve mellowed, I have a stronger sense of myself. I want [my style] to say that I’m not trying to be anything other than myself.”
