The Chicago Bears enter their Week 7 matchup with the New Orleans Saints with a three-game winning streak. The Bears have won back-to-back games with a 25-24 score, including the victory on “Monday Night Football” over the Washington Commanders.

More News: Bears given Saints warning before Sunday’s game

After a 0-2 start, the Bears have made progress on both sides of the ball. Still, Chicago has some issues it needs to fix. The offensive line needs to stop committing so many penalties, and the defense needs a better pass rush.

On Friday, the Bears decided to cut ties with a defender they hoped would help the pass rush before the season.

Per the Bears, defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon is no longer on the roster.

More News: Bears could regret Ben Johnson’s newest controversial decision

Kpassagnon was signed by the Bears in July and cut after training camp. Chicago re-signed him to the practice squad and elevated him in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. The Bears then signed him to the 53-man roster on Sept. 20.

The former second-round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs played in four games for the Bears, recording five tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss and two quarterback hits.

The six-foot-seven, 289-pound athlete won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs for the 2020 season. He spent 2021-2024 with the New Orleans Saints, when current Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen was with the team.

Kpassagnon’s release is a good sign that second-year defensive end Austin Booker is ready to return. Booker was not activated before Monday night’s game against the Commanders. He’s been battling a knee injury since training camp, and has yet to play a snap this season.
