Chicago White Sox will receive a boost to their lineup with two players joining the club

There’s a discernible happiness in the air for the Chicago White Sox as they are finally getting out of their way and allowing their young prospects to get called up and see if they can sink or swim. The first prospect to get the call for the White Sox was Chase Meidroth, who is off to a great start and is a walking machine.
Once Meidroth had a path cleared for him to join the big league club, it wouldn’t be long before others received their call to come to the show. The White Sox didn’t waste too much time in calling up their next top prospect, as they’re calling up one of their top catching prospects, Edgar Quero, who has been on a tear down in Charlotte and deserved a call to the show.
Quero won’t be the only player to join the White Sox for the finale against the Athletics, as the Sox made a series of roster moves, adding another key contributor to their offense, and sending two players out.
Chicago White Sox make a series of roster moves before today’s game
Before the game against the Athletics, the White Sox announced, that Andrew Benintendi would be reinstated from the ten-day injured list, after dealing with a left adductor strain. To make room for Quero and Benintendi on the roster, the White Sox designated Omar Narváez for assignment and sent outfielder Greg Jones down to Triple-A.

Narváez had filled in admirably for the White Sox, as their primary backstop, Korey Lee, is still recovering after tweaking his ankle on a pickoff play against the Cleveland Guardians. Narváez had done well filling in for the Sox, as he was hitting .286/.400/.286 with an OPS and OPS+ of .686 and 107.
There was no surprise that Jones was the other choice to be sent out, as he will continue to ride the taxi from Triple-A to the big leagues for the rest of this season. Jones has only appeared in three games for the White Sox during his short stint with them, where he went 0-2 at the plate, striking out both times.
It’s great to see Benintendi coming back for the White Sox
For the White Sox to get Benintendi back is a godsend, as he was their only offensive threat before hitting the injured list. In his nine games this season, the now 30-year-old Benintendi slashed .290/.333/.484 for an OPS and OPS+ of .817 and 138.
Getting Benintendi’s hot bat back in the lineup to pair with Meidroth and Quero should light a spark under the Sox and hopefully put them on a winning streak.
The future is now!
The future is starting now for the White Sox, and this is only the beginning, as more prospects are coming down the pipeline.
The best prospects the White Sox have are their three top pitchers, Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith, and Grant Taylor, who are all down at Double-A Birmingham, getting ready for when it is their turn to join the big league club.
Their time could come soon, as the White Sox aren’t wasting time and are slowly letting White Sox fans see what they have been dreaming about, and that’s a great team led by their top prospects.
