Paisley DCNN6366 and Largs DCNN6527. Collapsing the House of Cards

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

From Artificial Intelligence:

Collapsing the house of cards” refers to the act of causing a fragile system, plan, or situation to fail, often through the removal of a single, crucial component. The phrase originates from the precarious structure of a real house of cards and is used metaphorically to describe something inherently unstable and prone to falling apart if even a small part is disturbed.”

AI goes on to describe “any scenario that is inherently unstable and likely to fail, such as a flawed business plan or a corrupt institution. “

As I reported in my recent Lowestoft Addendum, the Met Office deleted fabricated data where they could no longer sustain the veracity of their manipulations. This “deletion” has major consequences .

Firstly, for context, a review of the “Historic Station” of Paisley. Local Thread manufacturer Thomas Coats first installed a weather Station in the grounds of his home (Ferguslie House in Ferguslie Park) in 1858. The image below shows the site complete with screens prior to Stevensons original 1864 design that was universally adopted in 1884. A diligently well observed site though even in the 19th century likely subject to urban effects.

In 1883 Coats bequeathed his personal observatory to the local council and all his equipment was transferred to the new site. Now named the “Coats Observatory”, the records back to 1858 are readily available to view online. {N.B. there are very good reasons why I add so many “screen captured” images and data in my reports which will be evident later in this report}

The Scottish Meteorological Society records regularly included such very precise site coordinates impressively even down to parts of a second. The new site was somewhat much worse than the old being in the Observatory garden, very heavily shaded and surrounded by urbanisation as shown below in this 2009 Google aerial image.

55.84549 -4.43097 No Official CIMO Assessment – clearly Class 5 Installed 1883 CLOSED 2/4/2011

Although veneration is often given to old sites like this along with Oxford, Cambridge and Durham, they are/were all rather poorly located and Paisley was truly awful recording temperatures in a suntrap rear garden in a major conurbation – more akin to Camden Square than open countryside. The site was redeveloped to expand the adjacent Paisley Museum and Art Gallery with the unsatisfactorily sited weather station being completely removed April 2011.

And there the story should have ended. The data had been of dubious quality with virtually no genuine real world applications for climate history reconstruction. However, the Met office did not (initially) seem to consider it that way. instead they opted to create the false impression (exactly as they did at Lowestoft, Newton Rigg and Nairn) that the site was still open and continuing to report monthly averages including temperature readings despite closure. And from 2011 this is what their website showed.

From closure in 2011 this was the ongoing data courtesy of the Internet Archive “Wayback Machine” that is outside of Met office control.{Screen captured in full to ensure retention as explained above}

However, the current Met Office publicly viewable webpage just like Lowestoft has changed and now looks like this.

OVER 14 YEARS SINCE CLOSURE THE MET OFFICE FINALLY “ADMITS” THE SITE IS CLOSED AND PRODUCES NO DATA………………………………OR DO THEY?

All the above actually indicates is that the Met office has removed data from open public view – Occam’s Razor does not allow me to claim beyond anything that I can prove and this does not prove anything other than those figures have been removed from “sight” – The Great Disappearing Act. The Met Office may simply have removed their self-incriminating fabricated data and “Pleaded the Fifth” …….. Can that be tested or can it be confirmed that they really have removed ALL fictional data relative to Paisley? I believe it is possible to check because of the implications of data removal……………………

The Met office produced in 2005 a “system” of what is technically and precisely defined as “data fabrication” with the process fully detailed here.

As explained by the Met Office itself data for “missing” days data or even “missing” (i.e. closed/non existent sites) weather stations are fabricated from up to 6 “well correlated” nearby weather stations.

Paisley was producing “climate averages” for the entire period of 1961 to 2020 (despite 2011 closure) and was well correlated/associated with Largs weather station also producing 60 year rolling climate averages. Paisley as below for 1991 to 2020.

Note how the above figures (for which a third are from non-existent primary data) dutifully demonstrates significant warming from the annual 1961 to 1990 figures here.

If Paisley’s data from 2011 is now no longer in existence it cannot be used in the creation of anywhere else’s data – thus its deletion would affect all other sites dependent on it for homogenisation. These other well correlated sites should display some alterations from this effect, after all Paisley was a much warmer, inland and urban site.

Largs weather station is one of those quoted “well correlated” sites that any reasonable observer would assume contributed to any missing days (or even years) for Paisley and vice versa. At 17 miles distant and a coastal sea ferry port it is somewhat difficult to consider very good correlation but I shall review it for its potential nonetheless.

LARGS DCNN 6527

Met Office supplied WGS84 Coordinates 55.7989 -4.86675 Installed 1959 ………CLOSED 1/9/1968

I am very adept at locating weather stations but even my gained experience does not extend to investigating the afterlife, the original location now lies somewhere under the subsequent housing development above.

Largs weather station also probably holds the UK record for the longest DEAD weather station for which Messrs Dan Hollis and Matthew Perry (authors of that secret sorcery that concocted such data fabrication back in 2005) saw fit to give the elixir of eternal youth to. There is no way to detect any alterations to the deletion of fabricated data in the compilation of …….erm….fabricated data for Largs on a truly historic, even heroic, grand scale though realistically there should be. For those who may question this, from the archives…….

Perhaps I could check any data amendments to any of those other “Well correlated” weather stations listed under Paisley. Glasgow Springburn just 9 miles away was originally installed in 1894 so another long term veteran to corroborate whether any adjustments have occured since Paisley’s deletion……except –

Springburn passed away on April Fool’s Day over 28 years ago in 1997.

Helensburgh No 2 perhaps? Born in 1970, it was not around even in Larg’s latter days and though it did make the 21st century it was not by much being shuttered down almost 23 years ago on 1st December 2002.

So it comes down to Glasgow Bishopton which at least is still operational though heavily subject to Aitken Effect from lack of vegetation maintenance and consequently over recording both daily highs and especially minima as I mentioned in my site report and detailed in my Heathrow review. Bishopton is also in a separate gridded cell for Climate Averages purposes as below.

The same “well correlated” but long DEAD cousins of Paisley, Helensburgh No 2 and Glasgow Springburn appear but – “wait there’s more”……..Arrochymore to be precise.

Glasgow Springburn’s own data and its represented climate averages figures do not appear to have altered in any way whatsoever throughout its entire operational life whatever cell it was in.

And so the circle of life is complete. Only one weather station (Bishopton) reporting climate averages in the whole area actually exists. All the rest are figments of whatever form of imagination an antiquated and grotesquely unfit for purpose computer model may, or may not, have. The visually apparent deletion of Paisley’s data, however, makes no difference….why? Because the Met Office has not deleted any data at all from their computer models that can be ascertained. Instead, the Met Office only appears to have solely deleted public visibility of parts of their fabricated data. Their depiction of rapidly rising temperature “proving” Anthropogenic Global Warming remains completely unchanged. The deletion of data should have had a ripple effect throughout the system, none is visible because, in reality, none has been deleted.

Had any real data been removed, just like that headline image, the whole fragile structure would collapse and that surely could not be allowed to happen.

Some may suggest this is gross malfeasance in public office, I really could not comment as I have no proof. To some it could appear that Paisley, Nairn Rigg and Lowestoft’s data has been deleted to avoid awkward scrutiny. There is, however, reasonable doubt that the Met office is being fully transparent in the way it collects, analyses and portrays its data and that should come under independent public examination.
