Mercedes-Benz Trucks is expanding its battery-electric truck lineup by introducing new rigid variants based on the eActros 600 platform. These additions aim to cater to a broader range of transport applications, including distribution and construction logistics.
Key Highlights:
- Expanded Portfolio: The new rigid variants complement the existing eActros 600 tractor unit, offering customers more flexibility in choosing the right configuration for their needs.
- Performance: All models in the eActros 600 series feature a battery capacity exceeding 600 kWh, enabling a range of approximately 500 kilometers (about 310 miles) on a single charge. With intermediate charging during legally mandated breaks, daily ranges can exceed 1,000 kilometers (over 620 miles).
- Charging Capabilities: The trucks support CCS charging up to 400 kW and are prepared for future megawatt charging systems (MCS), allowing for charging from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes at suitable stations.
- Production Timeline: Series production of the eActros 600, including the new rigid variants, is scheduled to commence at the end of 2024.
- Environmental Impact: The eActros 600 is designed to reduce CO₂ emissions by over 80% compared to diesel trucks over its lifecycle, aligning with Daimler Truck’s commitment to sustainable transportation.
