GRAND OPENING OF PORTNOY GALLERY ON MAY 19 - Art work by renowned artist Neal Portnoy

LAS VEGAS, NV (MMD Newswire) May 16, 2016 — Renowned artist and entertainer Neal Portnoy will debut the new Portnoy Gallery on Thursday, May 19 at 7:00 p.m. at 1537 West Oakey Blvd. in Las Vegas, NV.

Neal’s new gallery will feature his creative, unique and exclusive sports art, entertainment art and caricature art production. Part entertainer, part artist, and part athlete, Neal blends these three aspects of himself into a gestalt that defies easy categorization. His illustration work employs a realism that seems impossible to capture using only felt-tip markers-and yet his works are breathtakingly grounded and real.

As a portrait artist, Neal’s sports subjects have included Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Pedro Martinez, Tom Brady, Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter and numerous others. His entertainment art has featured celebrities including Steven Tyler, Jerry Garcia, Chris Daughtry, Kanye West and a sweeping array of other entertainers, celebrities, public figures and much more.

As an athlete himself-a former baseball player and current college pitching coach-Neal uses his personal experience, love of sports, and artistic talent to bring his subjects to life and to give the illustration an evocative quality that leaves the viewer with a sense of the subject’s personality and appeal.
