K9s4COPS TO GIFT K9 ''LIBERTE'' TO THE FRENCH NATIONAL POLICE IN NEW YORK CITY

Houston, TX (MMD Newswire) March 24, 2016 — K9s4COPs is granting and delivering a trained police canine to the French Police SWAT Team Raid this week in New York City. The France based industrial company Boccard, which has two plants in Houston, graciously partnered with K9s4COPS in order to help supplement the loss of the heroic efforts of K9 Diesel, the apprehension dog that was killed during the November action against the terrorist cell near Paris. K9 Liberte marks the very first international grant of a police canine from K9s4COPS.

The official ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Consulate General of France offices located at 934 5th Avenue in New York City. The timing of the delivery of K9 Liberte comes just one day before K9s4COPS’ celebrates its 5th Anniversary. Leaders from the French Police SWAT Team Raid will be accepting K9 Liberte and will for the first time get the opportunity to meet the K9s4COPS team.

K9s4COPs is a non-profit that was founded in 2010 by Kristi Schiller, in Houston, Texas. Since the organization’s conception, they have donated over 120 highly trained K9 officers and provided thousands of hours of training to police departments in 31 states. These police dogs have resulted in the confiscation of over $100 million dollars of illegal contraband and cash.

Boccard has been a long standing support of K9s4COPS and its efforts to keep communities safer since it’s inception nearly five years ago.

After the terrorist attack on Paris, K9 Diesel perished defending innocent bystanders. K9s4COPS immediately reached out to the French Embassy offering to assistance.

From there word spread to French officials in Washington, D.C. and continued to climb the chain of command, until they connected with Pierre Edouard Colliex, the French National Police and Homeland Security Attaché in Washington. Colliex furthered the process by coordinating transatlantic conferences calls with Diesel’s Parisian handler. Together, it was a mutual decision that K9s4COPS would donate a single purpose Belgian Malinois patrol dog to the Police Nationale.
