Some of the many miraculous events that took place publicly at the start of Jesus’ ministry.

Matthew 3:13-17 (KJV) “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.¹⁴ But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?¹⁵ And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.¹⁶ And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:¹⁷ And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

During our studies these are miraculous events we observed that took place publicly at the very start of the ministry of Jesus on Earth:

1. At the river Jordon, John the Baptist was calling people to repent of their sins and be baptized in the water to represent being washed clean of their past sins. Jesus showed up for John to baptize Him in the river to kick off the sequence of miraculous events. As the above scripture teaches us, after John was convinced by Jesus to go ahead and baptize Him for the sake of:” Righteousness and that the Kingdom was nigh” John complied. Jesus later in Matthew 6:33 confirmed again the importance of receiving the Kingdom and His Righteousness “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
2. As the above scripture also teaches us, that specifically when Jesus emerged out of the

Water, He saw the heavens parted (1^st Miracle) and the Holy Spirit descending upon His head (2^nd Miracle) gently like a Dove “and lighting upon Him” – (3^rd Miracle) -based on our research the King James English means the Holy Spirit anointed Jesus with power, authority, wisdom and supernatural gifts.

3. Then people heard God speak from Heaven (4^th Miracle) and finally in this set of scriptures, God confirmed to everyone present that Jesus in fact was His Son (5^th Miracle) and placed a spiritual crown upon Jesus by saying “in whom I am well pleased” (6^th Miracle)
4. Subsequent to the above set of scriptures, we have found only one other person, John the Baptist, whose statement was recorded in the Bible but surely, they were also many others who witnessed the miracles of the Holy Spirit and also saw the descending and landing of the Holy Spirit upon the head of Jesus like a Dove (not as a dove that many seem to believe). John 1:32-34 “And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.³³ And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.³⁴ And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.”
5. Based on the above-mentioned miraculous events, later in Jesus’ ministry, Jesus declared about His life in John 10:18 – “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.”  (7^th Miracle).
