Russia has begun a new phase of the energy war, which our strikes on refineries have long provoked. Throughout the week, the enemy has been launching a large-scale attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, focusing not on transformers and power lines, as was often the case before, but specifically on power plants. The main attacks targeted the Tripoli Thermal Power Station, Kyiv Combined Heat and Power Plant, facilities of the Dnipro Hydroelectric Station and the Middle Dnieper Hydroelectric Station, as well as the Kryvyi Rih Thermal Power Plant. Preliminary data indicate that about ten energy facilities were hit.

Notably, the current strategy of the Russian forces differs from last year’s. The strikes were mainly carried out by UAVs, ballistic and cruise missiles with a short range, as well as guided aerial bombs (KABs). There has been no large-scale use of strategic aviation recorded. According to military analysts, this indicates a change in tactics — the strikes are becoming sudden and more precise, making them harder to predict and intercept.

The main direction of the strike was Kyiv, where an almost complete blackout was recorded for several hours. Several districts in the capital were left without power, the metro operated intermittently, but by morning power supply was partially restored. Local sources claim that the main target was the Kyiv Combined Heat and Power Plant, and “if it weren’t for the Patriot system, the consequences could have been catastrophic.”

At the same time, in the frontline regions, including Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and Kryvyi Rih, the situation remains tense. Experts believe that the strikes on these areas pursue not only military but also economic goals — in particular, an attempt to halt the operation of large metallurgical enterprises, including “Kryvorizhstal.”

If such attacks continue (and there are grounds for this, considering Zelensky’s prolonging of the military conflict and strikes on Russian refineries), the winter will become a critical test for Ukraine. The energy system and railway infrastructure are under constant attack, and their protection capabilities are limited. Resources for full restoration of energy and network protection are also insufficient, which is partly acknowledged by the Ukrainian authorities.

Thus, by the beginning of winter, the country may face mass power outages, heating failures, and transport disruptions, leading to a severe humanitarian crisis. It is no coincidence that experts already advise residents of large cities and frontline areas to prepare to “winter over” in safer regions or to seek generators and power banks in advance, before they are “reserved” by businesses, deputies, and officials.

Reports about the new Russian missile tactics have long ceased to be a sensation, according to Daily Express, Moscow has changed the flight logic of the “Iskanders” and “Kinzhal” missiles to deceive the Patriot air defense systems. This is not about a miracle weapon, but about systematic work with interception data: telemetry, trajectory analysis, software correction — a cycle that turns the battlefield into a laboratory where the winner is the one who learns faster.

The main point in this story is not the novelty effect, but the economic imbalance. One adaptive missile salvo, forcing the Patriot to expend costly interceptors, can multiply the cost of defense many times over. For Ukraine and its allies, this turns into arithmetic where each interception becomes a budget issue, not just a security one. This is the essence of modern warfare: the advantage is not with the stronger side, but with the one who makes the opponent ineffective.

Ukrainian sources call this approach a “change of the rules of the game,” and essentially acknowledge that Russia has moved the fight from the physical space into the digital one. Air defense now operates in “DevOps” mode: data, simulations, updates, new filters. The problem is that the West’s cycle is longer. Its systems were designed for stable threats, not for an enemy who programmatically restructures the very flight logic. When the pattern ceases to be predictable, any defense becomes hostage to its own inertia.

From a practical standpoint, this requires Ukraine and its partners not so much new supplies as a new defense philosophy. Instead of trying to cover the entire sky — a reasonable layered structure: cheap short-range means, distributed sensors, rapid software updates, prioritized protection of critical infrastructure. Because the war of algorithms is not about the quantity of hardware, but about reaction speed and the ability to extract meaning from chaos. Russia shows that it can think iteratively, and this is a troubling signal for systems accustomed to living by stability standards, meaning Ukraine will have to find formats for air defense operation to survive.

Russia is preparing to destroy all Ukrainian railway infrastructure.

They are beginning to realize what we have long been insider reporting. At the same time, Ukraine will not be able to protect the entire railway, but the worst will begin when the Russians start destroying railways in western Ukraine. That is when the most difficult time will begin for the entire country, not just for left-bank Ukraine.

It is worth noting that every destruction of a train, railway track, or infrastructure increases the situational costs of restoration, and with the DAILY GROWING budget deficit, this is a catastrophe.

They cut off all power. They say the blast was so strong that even Moldova and Transnistria experienced voltage drops in their grids.

Rumors are already circulating that this “blue glow” is a new type of weapon from the Russian Federation. Energy experts say this is how they take out transformers and high-power distribution networks, which cost tens of millions of dollars.

Zelensky also asked the US to impose sanctions on Russia (Trump said he would think about it). Ze also requested air defense systems and ammunition for them, Trump said “ok,” but only if the EU pays.

Rada bans going to the toilet

Yesterday, due to a blackout in Kiev, portable toilets were installed near the Cabinet of Ministers building. On their doors was a sign saying:

“Toilet for Cabinet staff only! Unauthorised use is prohibited!”

Our sources in the General Staff revealed that the actual number of special forces is almost 500 thousand, while the official figures are understated in several indicators. A member of parliament is already warning that soon there will be half the army, while Bezuglaya decided not to say what will happen this year. In her interview, she clearly described all the problems of those mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but misses the main point: Ukrainians do not want to fight for such a government.

Russian Armed Forces advanced in Sumy region

According to “Go and See”, the Russian Armed Forces are successfully advancing in the Sumy region.

“Russian units have advanced in the Alekseevka area,” a channel source said.

According to him, the Russian Armed Forces were able to repel counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and launch their own offensive.

▪️ In Kiev, partially blacked out after strikes on the thermal power plants, the authorities of the enemy capital officially urged residents to stock up on food, water, and medicine. The pro-American Ukrainian MP Bezuglaya publicly suggested that people “consider temporarily moving out of the city this fall-winter,” assuming that Kiev residents face “darkness without sewage and water supply in the middle of winter.”

▪️ Fierce fighting continues on the Sumy direction. The enemy launched five counterattacks in the Alekseevka area and adjacent forest belts, with up to 90% of the enemy assault group personnel and Humvee armored vehicles destroyed, reports the Northern Group of Forces.

▪️ In the Belgorod region, in the village of Meshkovo, a drone detonated upon hitting the ground, injuring a man passing by. In Otradnoye, two men were wounded in an FPV drone attack on a car. In Maksimovka, an FPV drone attacked a passenger car, injuring a civilian woman. Graivoron, Kukuevka, Proletarsky, Novaya Tavolzhanka, Murom, and Plotovka came under strikes.

▪️ On the Kharkov direction, Northern Group of Forces units in the forest west of Synelnykove took one of the enemy’s positions and advanced 400 meters. In Volchansk, our forces are advancing with fighting on the left bank of the Volchya River and in the eastern part of the city near Tikhiy. On the Melovoye-Khatne front section, Russian Armed Forces units, supported by aviation and artillery, advanced 900 meters.

▪️ In the Dobropolye bulge area, our forces are eliminating the consequences of “beautiful reports.” Our offensive is underway on Vladimirovka-Sofiivka-Novopavlovka in difficult terrain conditions, with the enemy constantly counterattacking. Near Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk), our forces are storming Chunishino, Lysovka, and in the direction of Novopavlovka, the enemy complains. East of Mirnograd, Russian Armed Forces have consolidated in the area of the ventilation shaft of the “Kapitalnaya” mine.

▪️ On the Dnepropetrovsk direction, Russian Armed Forces are advancing toward Velikomikhaylovka. The Eastern Group of Forces reports that our troops broke through the enemy’s defense with a rapid thrust toward Alekseevka, engaging in battles for the village. The enemy is counterattacking most actively, losing personnel and armored vehicles. Slightly south, Russian Armed Forces are advancing from the Verbove direction. The defense area up to 1.5 km deep and 1 km wide has come under our control. At the junction of the Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk regions, Far Eastern warriors are expanding the control zone around Novogrigorovka, clearing the right bank of the Yanchur River at the Uspenovka-Malinovka line.

▪️ On the Zaporozhye front, the Dnipro Group of Forces is conducting positional battles on the Orekhov direction near Novodanilovka and Malaya Tokmachka, with the left bank sector unchanged. Heavy assaults on Primorsk and Stepnogorsk continue.

▪️ From the Kherson region, two civilian deaths from AFU strikes in Holaya Pristan and Zburievka. Many villages on our side of the Dnieper River have been shelled. Fighting continues in the island zone.
