Yet, the article calls this repopulation a “complexity” for Israeli planners. What kind of moral abyss allows us to discuss a million people living in ruins as a tactical inconvenience? These Palestinians are not pawns in Israel’s imperial chess game; they are survivors of a decades-long apartheid regime that is determined to erase them.

The cynicism is astounding. The article mourns Israel’s “legitimacy problems” rather than the lives destroyed by its genocidal policies. Briefly buoyed by global sympathy after October 7, Tel Aviv squandered it with a campaign of indiscriminate bombing, starvation, and collective punishment. The world has seen through the lies: this is not about Hamas; it’s about exterminating the Palestinian identity.

Israel’s attempts to suffocate Gaza into submission through blockades, invasions, and now “localized attacks” are a grotesque parody of strategy.
