FBI Director Kash Patel Scrubs Jihad Motive in Michigan Terror Plot

In his major announcement yesterday,  FBI director Kash patel went to painful lengths to avoid mentioning the motive of terror attack that was foiled in Michigan. He said:  “This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend. More details to come. Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland.”

The more things change, the more the self-censoring and scrubbing of jihad stays the same. Although I was surprised even Kash Patel was cowed by sharia restrictions on speech.

That’s a whole lot of words to say a whole lot of nothing.

An Islamic terror attack on Halloween most certainly would have targeted children and Patel thinks it wise to obscure the motive?

NY Post: Federal investigators prevented a real-life Halloween horror by busting at least five terror plotters inspired by ISIS in Michigan early Friday, sources familiar with the operation told The Post. Authorities raided three homes in the Detroit suburbs of Dearborn and Inkster and recovered weapons.

Those arrested were described as home-grown radicals, but authorities were investigating possible foreign contacts of the suspects.

A cryptic reference to “pumpkin day.” An online chat about an ISIS-inspired attack. A shooting range visit to practice high-speed reloads with AK-47s.

The FBI moved in this week when a group of people who were being monitored “went to a shooting range with AK-47s and other weapons, fired a large number of rounds of ammunition, practiced tactical high-speed reloads, and in the discussions it was picked up a reference to what we’re told is ‘pumpkin day’ – a possible reference to Halloween.”

Even the new FBI regime of Kash Patel, which is vastly superior to the authoritarian corruptocrats it supplanted, refuses to call jihadis what they are. It’s clear that this was a jihad plot, given the fact that the FBI conducted an operation in Dearborn and the mention of “international terrorism,” but the long period in which Americans have to read tea leaves to understand what is happening should have been ended long ago.

A Justice Department official said the plot had been expected to take place over Halloween weekend and was tied to international terrorism.

Police in Dearborn, a Detroit suburb, said on social media that the FBI had conducted an operation in that city on Friday, adding that there was “no threat.”
