What is a Miracle?

Do you know what was the first recorded miracle in the Bible that someone witnessed for the first time?

Besides the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ our Lord, what other miraculous event can you recall that is recorded in the Bible when Jesus was born?

What is a Miracle?

There are many miracles recorded in the Bible so it is critical that we understand what is a miracle. After studying the Bible, from the book of Genesis to Revelations, one should not have any doubt that our God The Father, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit are miracle workers.

Dictionary’s definition of a Miracle:

“a surprising and welcome event that is regarded as a miracle when it is not by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.“

The answer to the question: Do you know what the first recorded miracle in the Bible was that someone witnessed for the first time?

The answer Is found in Exodus 7:9.

The answer to the question:

“Besides the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ our Lord, what other miracle events can you recall that are recorded in the Bible at the time of the birth of Jesus?

The answer is found in Matthew 2:1

“Three Magi—wise men (‘the Magi- wise men’ term is also referred to in the book of Daniel 1:20 over 600 hundred years before) from the East saw and followed from the Star that led them to Bethlehem”- a journey of about 800 to 900 miles that required dedication, planning, provisions, and security. After the Wise men reached that area that particular Star was no longer mentioned in the Bible which made them then go to the court of Herod to inquire about what they were to seeking.

The Bible does not state this, but we believe it was a miracle that the Star was only visible to the Wise men as they followed it for a very, very long time as they traveled the long journey to the area near Bethlehem. This was confirmed that no one in Israel saw the Star, or paid attention to it because Herod had to ask his advisors about what the King the Wise Men were inquiring about.

The answer to the question: Have you experienced a Miracle in your life?

Even if no one in your group has specifically experienced a miracle themselves please remember God loves all children, even the ones that have not yet accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Most believers of Jesus Christ do not realize that when they received Jesus as their personal Saviour they were ‘BORN AGAIN’ they became a new creation, 2 Corinthians 5:17 – A miraculous event that is then their Spirit was again reunited with GOD as once it was for Adam and Eve before they sinned, 2 Corinthians 5:17.
