RSF Seeks Rs 100 Crore For YVU’s Comprehensive Development
Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: RSF has urged the State Government to allocate at least Rs 100 crore for the comprehensive development of Yogi Vemana University (YVU), stating that the recently announced Rs 10 crore by State Higher Education Minister Nara Lokesh is grossly inadequate to meet the institution’s long-pending requirements.

Key projects await completion
RSF State President DM Obulesu Yadav noted that several important facilities—including the Management Block, Girls’ Hostel, Hospital, Boundary Wall, Vice Chancellor and Registrar residences, and residential quarters for staff—remain incomplete even two decades after the university’s establishment. He emphasized that completing these projects would significantly strengthen YVU’s academic and research standing.

Scope for academic expansion
The RSF leader also criticized Minister Lokesh for not addressing the long-pending demand to establish new faculties, including Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Law, and B.Ed programs. He stressed that such courses are vital to expand academic opportunities for students in the backward Kadapa district. “With these additions, YVU has the potential to emerge as one of the leading universities in the country,” he said.

Appeal for increased support
Yadav highlighted that a more substantial financial package is necessary to ensure that YVU reaches its full potential and provides world-class facilities for its students and faculty.
City Convener Vamsi, Chennakesava, and Sai also participated in the meeting, extending their support to the demand for comprehensive development.
A University beyond regional needs
RSF leaders concluded that strengthening YVU is not only vital for the upliftment of Rayalaseema and backward regions but also a step toward enriching India’s higher education landscape. With proper investment, they said, YVU could stand as a model university contributing to research, innovation, and inclusive growth.
