RCP Seeks Probe Into Alleged Violations At Icon Villas

Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Rayalaseema Communist Party (RCP) State General Secretary Ravi Shankar Reddy on Friday demanded an immediate halt to ongoing construction at Icon Villas, alleging large-scale irregularities, lack of permissions, and unfulfilled promises made to homeowners.

Allegations of unauthorized construction

Speaking at a press conference at the Press Club, Ravi Shankar Reddy said construction in the villas was being carried out without permission and in violation of government regulations. He alleged that promised amenities such as a park, community hall, clubhouse, swimming pool, gym, and wide roads had not been delivered.

Broken promises and narrow roads

According to Reddy, the roads that were to be 40 and 30 feet wide were instead reduced to 25 and 15 feet. He further alleged that attempts were being made to construct apartments within the villa premises, against the original plan.

The RCP leader claimed that residents who questioned the contractor were being threatened and abused, creating an atmosphere of fear among homeowners. He alleged that the villa owners were being “terrorized” instead of being provided with the promised facilities.

Call for District Collector’s intervention

Reddy demanded that the District Collector form a special committee to probe the irregularities, reclaim crop canal lands and temple lands allegedly encroached upon, and take legal action against officials who cooperated with the contractor. He further urged registration of criminal cases against those responsible and their arrest.

Warning of direct protest

The RCP leader warned that if authorities failed to act, the party, along with villa owners, would launch a direct protest to press for justice.

RCP city secretary Makbul Bhasha, Executive Members Madagalam Prasad, Vijay Kumar, Pratap Reddy, Lakshmi Devi, Ravi, Chinna Subbaiah, and others participated in the program, extending full support to the demands.
