RCP Launches Campaigns Against Injustice To Old Kadapa Dalits

Andhra Pradesh: Rayalaseema Communist Party (RCP) has launched a sustained campaign highlighting the systemic injustice faced by Dalits in Old Kadapa, declaring it a national Dalit issue and vowing to intensify the movement until justice is served.

Dalit awareness campaign gathers momentum

Addressing the press after releasing a pamphlet titled “Let’s fight together against the injustice done to Old Kadapa Dalits” at the RCP office on Friday, RCP State General Secretary Ravi Shankar Reddy said village-level meetings and conferences are being held to raise awareness among Dalits and tribal communities.

“The injustice meted out to old Kadapa Dalits is unbearable and must be seen not as a local issue but a reflection of a national Dalit problem,” Reddy said.

Injustice framed as national Dalit crisis

Reddy emphasized that the struggles of the Old Kadapa Dalits mirror the plight of Dalits across India. “Wherever Dalits live, they face systemic injustice and exclusion. It is essential to raise awareness and unite in resistance,” he asserted.

Roundtable meeting to frame future plan of action

He announced that a roundtable meeting was being convened at the Press Club with the participation of political and civil society leaders to deliberate on the issue. “The future course of action will be decided collectively, and our struggle will not stop until justice is achieved,” he warned.

The event saw the participation of leaders from the Dalit and Tribal Rights Struggle Association, including honorary presidents Venkatesh and Madagalam Prasad. Dalit representatives from Old Kadapa — Obulesh, Diwakar, Venkatasubbayya, Vijay Kumar, and others — were also present, expressing solidarity with the movement.
