Telugu Desam Party Pledges Continued Support For Andhra Pradesh Fisheries Sector

• Kinjarapu Achchennaidu highlights achievements of TDP Government

Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh (BIN – IC): TDP state president Kinjarapu Achchennaidu today reaffirmed his party’s commitment to the development of the state’s fisheries sector. In a statement on the occasion of International Fishery Day, Achchennaidu recalled the TDP government’s achievements in this area during its previous term in office.

“When the TDP was in power, we made it our goal to place Andhra Pradesh’s fisheries sector at the top of the international level,” Achchennaidu stated. “We invested a total of Rs.788.38 crores in the development of the fisheries sector during our five-year term from 2014 to 2019.”

Among the TDP government’s initiatives for the fisheries sector were:

• Providing nets, boats, ice boxes, and other professional equipment with a 90% subsidy under the Adharana scheme
• Providing nets and boats with a 75% subsidy to inland society fishermen
• Providing deep sea fishing nets, aerators, inland nets, inland boats, fiber boats, gill nets, reefer vans, and sea cages
• Supporting fishermen through a diesel subsidy
• Introducing a pension scheme for fishermen over the age of 50
• Establishing six residential schools for the education of fishermen’s children
• Providing death certificates within a month and insurance of Rs.5 lakhs to fishermen who died while hunting
• Raising fish in hatcheries and releasing them into ponds and reservoirs, and entrusting fishing duties to fishermen

“These initiatives had a significant impact on the lives of Andhra Pradesh’s fishermen, and we are committed to continuing these efforts if we are elected to power again,” Achchennaidu said. “We believe that the fisheries sector has the potential to be a major driver of economic growth for the state, and we will do everything we can to ensure that it reaches its full potential.”

టీడీపీ అధికారంలో ఉన్నపుడు రాష్ట్ర మత్స్య రంగాన్ని అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయిలో అగ్రస్థానంలో నిలపడమే లక్ష్యంగా పని చేశామని పార్టీ రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షుడు కింజరాపు అచ్చెన్నాయుడు అన్నారు. అంతర్జాతీయ మత్స్యకార దినోత్సవ సందర్భంగా రాష్ట్రంలోని గంగపుత్రులకు అచ్చెన్నాయుడు ఒక ప్రకటనలో శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలియజేశారు. సుదీర్ఘ సముద్రతీరం, నిపుణులైన మన మత్స్యకుటుంబాలు రాష్ట్రానికి ఓ వరమన్నారు. టీడీపీ అధికారంలో ఉన్నపుడు రాష్ట్ర మత్స్య రంగం అభివృద్ధి కోసం 2014-19 ఐదేళ్ల కాలంలోనే ఏకంగా రూ. 788.38 కోట్లను ఖర్చు చేశాం. ఆదరణ పథకం కింద వలలు, పడవలు, ఐస్‌ బాక్సులు సహా ఇతర వృత్తి పరికరాలను 90 శాతం సబ్సిడీతో అందించాం. ఇన్‌ ల్యాండ్‌ సొసైటీ మత్స్యకారులకు 75 శాతం సబ్సిడీతో వలలు, పడవలు అందించాం. డీప్‌ సీ ఫిషింగ్‌ నెట్స్‌, ఏరియేటర్స్‌, ఇన్లాండ్‌ నెట్స్‌, ఇన్లాండ్‌ బోట్స్‌, ఫైబర్‌ బోట్స్‌, గిల్‌ నెట్స్‌, రిఫర్‌ వ్యాన్స్‌, సముద్రపు పంజరాలు అందించాం. డీజిల్‌ సబ్సిడీ తీసుకొచ్చి మత్స్యకారులకు తోడుగా నిలిచాం. దేశంలో తొలిసారిగా 50 ఏళ్లు దాటిన మత్స్యకారులకు పెన్షన్‌ అందించిన ఘనత తెలుగుదేశం ప్రభుత్వానిదే. మత్స్యకారుల పిల్లల చదువుల కోసం శ్రీకాకుళం, విజయనగరం, విశాఖపట్నం, పశ్చిమ గోదావరి, గుంటూరు, ప్రకాశం జిల్లాల్లో ఆరు రెసిడెన్షియల్‌ పాఠశాలలు ప్రారంభించాం. వేటకు వెళ్లి మరణించిన వారికి నెల రోజుల్లోనే డెత్‌ సర్టిఫికెట్‌ అందించి రూ.5లక్షల బీమా కల్పించాం. హేచరీల్లో చేపపిల్లలు పెంచి చెరువులు, రిజర్వాయర్లలో వదిలి మత్స్యకారులకు వేట బాధ్యతలు అప్పగించాం.
