Gaza is a distraction. Hamas is an invented scarecrow. The real drama in the Holy Land centers around Jerusalem and the fulfillment of end times prophecies.
And these prophecies are not only believed in by backward Christians who read the Bible day and night or apocalyptic Muslims who dream about their Messiah but by high government and military officials in the United States and Israel.
Nations with Messiah complexes, which includes above all the Jewish nation, but America and Iran under the Ayatollahs can also be categorized as such, cannot be trusted to engage in peaceful dialogue and follow through with negotiated terms. The proposed Trump peace plan for Gaza is another ruse.
In their biblical worldview the territory of Palestine and Israel is not a geopolitical prize that can be divvied up. They read biblical scriptures literally, and they have no interest in peace settlements that does not include the rebuilding of the Jewish holy temple.
Russia, China, and the rest of the international community don’t realize what they’re dealing with. The elites in possession of these countries don’t answer to the public will or the democratic vote but to their own conception of God, ancient prophecies, and religious principles.
Washingdon, Tehran, and Tel Aviv should not be viewed as rational actors that are motivated by material interests. Netanyahu and Trump are clean shaven, suit wearing modern politicians but they answer to men with long beards. For them wasting the treasury of the United States is a worthy and acceptable price to pay to accomplish their divine ends.
What we are dealing with across all three theocratic polities is not something that can be changed via the ballot box. They cannot be pressured on the world stage in a global body like the UN. Reason does not reach their ears. Only catastrophes will end the insanity of these regimes. Only war.
