Interested in Learning the Truth About Jesus Christ and His Gospel? It May Not be Taught in Your Church

Many people are realizing that we are in the end times, and have had the desire to want to get to know God, and understand the role that Jesus Christ has played in their lives.

Christianity is the teaching and belief in Jesus Christ. However, as a person researches churches, they find tremendous differences in what each of the churches teach. That can be confusing. These churches teachings can’t all be correct, because they conflict with each other. So where would a person go to find the “Gospel of Jesus Christ” in its pure form? Where can you find the teachings of Jesus Christ, without the interpretation and added doctrine from a church or religion?

Let’s use some logic and common sense here for a moment, and review what we know.

Jesus Christ was actually on the earth during the period of time from 4 B.C. to A.D. 30 or 33. While He was on the earth, He taught “His Gospel,” the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This gospel was recorded in the Bible, and is available to all of us today.

The illusive question of where can we find the pure gospel of Jesus Christ, is answered with just one book, the Bible, (I’ll share more information regarding its exclusivity later in this writing).

Two years ago, I decided to approach the gospel of Jesus Christ with a clean slate. I would not take any of the previous teachings that I had received by a religion into this new venture. I would go into this with a teachable mind, with the intent to learn what Christ taught and did while He was on the earth. I would do this by studying the Bible ONLY, coupled with lots of prayer for guidance and understanding from God.

In doing this, I learned the PURE Gospel of Jesus Christ, just as He taught!

In my studies, the most important thing that I learned was this: According to Jesus Himself, no one can see or enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born again — a spiritual transformation that happens through faith in Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Here are the supporting scriptures:

John 3:3 (KJV)

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:5-7 (KJV)

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

What it means:

  • Born of the flesh = our physical birth.
  • Born of the Spirit = a spiritual rebirth through faith in Jesus Christ.

When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior, repents of sin, and receives the Holy Spirit, they are spiritually reborn — forgiven, renewed, and made a child of God.

So how does a person become born again? Is it by our WORKS, or the things that we do? Is that how we get to heaven? Let’s go back to the bible to answer that.

Ephesians 2:8–9

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

This concept was new to me. We are saved by the Grace of God, and not by any of our works. Let’s keep learning:

Titus 3:5

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”

Romans 4:4–5

“Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”

Galatians 2:16

“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”

Romans 11:6

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.”

Salvation is a free gift from God, received by faith in Jesus Christ, not earned through human effort or religious deeds. Our good works follow salvation — they are the fruit of faith, not the root of salvation. By being born again, we desire to do good deeds. These good deeds, (works) are a result of our new birth, not the fulfillment of a requirement to earn salvation. They demonstrate that we have indeed been born again: Changed.

Christ was sent to earth to accomplish a very important mission for YOU and ME. God knew that we all would sin on earth, so He created a plan for our sins to be forgiven. Jesus would come to earth and through what is called “The Atonement,” He would suffer by taking upon all of the sins from mankind, which He did in the garden of Gethsemani, and that He would solidify by being hung on a cross and killed. This was what He did for us. He took away all of our sins, and died for us. This was the mission of Jesus Christ. This is the center of His Gospel.

This Atonement Sacrifice is for ALL Mankind.

1 Timothy 2:5–6 (KJV)

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

Hebrews 2:9 (KJV)

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death… that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”

1 John 2:2 (KJV)

“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

His sacrifice is for all, HOWEVER, there is one important step in making it effective in your life. Let’s continue learning about this:

Personal trust and faith are required to receive salvation

John 1:12 (KJV)

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

  • Meaning: Only those who personally receive Him gain the benefit of the atonement. It is not forced upon anyone.

John 3:18 (KJV)

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

  • Meaning: Faith is the key to applying the atonement to your life. We must accept His gift, and believe in its divine power of forgiveness.

Romans 10:9–10 (KJV)

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

  • Meaning: Salvation is activated personally through faith and confession.

2 Corinthians 5:15 (KJV)

“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

  • Meaning: Christ’s death is for all, but only those who respond live unto Him.

Can you see how this atonement works? It was given for all mankind, but it is not forced upon anyone. In order for the atonement to become effective and have a person’s sins forgiven, they must accept Jesus Christ into their life, and become Born Again.

John 3:16 (KJV)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This gospel of Jesus Christ is SO SIMPLE!!! Churches complicate it in order to keep their members committed to the church, when the only thing that is necessary is our commitment towards Jesus Christ. Can you see that it’s not about a church, it’s about Jesus Christ?

Now, I’d like to share something with you to assist you in filtering out all of the other teachings that churches use in clouding the gospel. I mentioned that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is taught through His teachings which are recorded in the Bible. In this same bible, Christ clearly teaches that the gospel of Jesus Christ taught is unchangeable, and that even angels do not have authority to alter it.

Any other teachings that are outside of His Gospel, as recorded in the bible should not be accepted as truth. Should you believe these “New” or “Additional” teachings, provided by a religion, you are going against what Jesus Himself has instructed us to do. Here are key scriptures that emphasize this truth:

Galatians 1:6-9

“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

  • Key point: Not even an angel has the authority to change the gospel. Any deviation from the true gospel brings a curse. And the true gospel? It is what Jesus Christ and His apostles taught while they were upon the earth, as recorded in the Bible.

Mark 16:15-16

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

  • Key point: Salvation depends solely on believing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

John 14:6

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

  • Key point: Jesus Himself is the only way; believing anything else is not sufficient. No special temple rituals, tokens, or “rules of a church” are necessary.

Romans 1:16

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

  • Key point: Salvation is exclusively through belief in the gospel of Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

  • Key point: The gospel is a fixed message: Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

The Bible is very clear—salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ and the gospel He brought. Any attempt to change it, even by angels or humans, is condemned (Galatians 1:8-9).

Let me use the teachings of the Bible to prove this point. Many Christian churches teach of additional ceremonies, or special ways to get into heaven. These new teachings are nowhere to be found in the bible. We’ve just learned that even an angle can not change the gospel of Jesus Christ which He taught while upon the earth. There are no New Ways, beyond what Jesus Christ taught while upon the earth.

Now, let’s consider an event that happened “first hand” while Jesus hung upon the cross. The story of the thief on the cross is a powerful example of salvation by grace through faith alone, as taught in the Bible. Here’s the account, drawn from the King James Version (KJV), with explanation:

While Jesus was being crucified between two criminals, one on His right and one on His left, the people mocked Him, and so did one of the criminals:

Luke 23:39-43 (KJV)

“And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

Here’s what’s remarkable about this story:

  1. No church membership required – The thief was not a part of any religious institution. He wasn’t baptized, didn’t tithe, and hadn’t performed any righteous works.
  2. No works could earn salvation – The thief acknowledged his sins and accepted that he deserved punishment. He recognized Jesus’ innocence and divine authority.
  3. Faith alone saved him – By simply turning to Jesus and asking to be remembered in His kingdom, the thief received an immediate promise of eternal life: “Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
  4. Salvation is a gift, not a reward – This shows clearly that salvation does not come from works, rituals, or human effort, but by trusting in Christ alone.

This story is often cited to emphasize grace, mercy, and the accessibility of salvation to anyone who genuinely believes in Jesus, regardless of religious background or human deeds. It’s a perfect demonstration that faith in Christ, even at the last moment, is enough to enter heaven.

Jesus Himself judged that thief at that very moment and said that, “Today thou shall be with me in paradise.”

The Meaning of “Paradise”

The word “paradise” comes from the Greek word “paradeisos”, which literally means a garden or park—a place of beauty, peace, and rest. In the Bible, it is used to describe the dwelling place of the righteous after death, a place where God’s presence brings comfort and joy.

Through these words from Jesus to the thief, it indicates immediate entry into God’s presence after death. Even though the thief had no works, no church membership, and no religious rituals, his faith in Jesus granted him this promise.

Now, I have just shared some of the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ with you, as written in the bible: Jesus’s most important teaching as well as His direction to only research and learn His gospel from the word that He and His Apostles taught when they were on the earth…NOTHING more.

I invite you to continue your learning and understanding of His gospel, for it contains everything that you need to know to find peace and happiness while on the earth, as well as to prepare you to live with Him once we pass on into our existence beyond or mortal lives.

Those of you who are reading this that have already understood these teachings, you are very aware that God desires us to help others Come to Christ, please feel free to share this post with others who are seeking to learn of Him. Time is of the essence.

River if you quote Paul you have to recall his emphasis on having died with Christ. Your journey into a sure foundation is found by challenging at the Cross the religion and the god that has owned you.
Romans 8:12 -15 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear (To the law – Romans 8:1-2) again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
What does Paul mean “put to death the misdeeds of the body by the Spirit” Our way to freedom from the law of our hearts as well as freedom from so many religious antics is found at the Cross.
When Jesus died on the Cross He was taking humanity in to death with Him. No, we didn’t die physically; but rather we were supernaturally brought into Jesus’ own death so that we can know His life.
We read in 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
Make no mistake we are not creating new doctrines to live by, but rather…

Make no mistake we are not creating new doctrines to live by, but rather talking about fundamental principles that are found in salvation.
It’s the same Savior, the same Holy Spirit, the same death in Christ, and the same separation from the flesh, the world and the Devil.
And just like salvation we then experience the same newness of life on the other side of our confession. All that is required of us is a willingness to let Jesus decide whether we are really living within the life of His Spirit or being distracted by religious rhetoric.
