War on Children Continues in South Africa: Likhona Fose Found Murdered in a Bush

Likhona Fose

In an alarming and heartbreaking incident, 14-year-old Likhona Fose was found murdered and mutilated in a bush at Durban Deep, Roodepoort, on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Likhona had gone missing just a day prior, sending shockwaves through her community and igniting a renewed discussion about the disturbing trends of violence against children in South Africa.

Likhona was a bright grade 8 student at Ikusasalethu Secondary School in Braamfischerville, living with her grandmother. Her tragic death has left family, friends, and the entire community in a state of devastation and disbelief. The local police have launched an investigation into her murder, but the question remains: what more needs to be done to protect our children?

This incident is part of a larger pattern of violence that has been increasingly reported across the country. The notion of a “war on children” has become a grim reality in South Africa, with disturbing reports suggesting the existence of a satanic syndicate involved in the systematic targeting and murder of children. These heinous acts not only shatter families but send waves of fear through communities that should feel safe.

The loss of Likhona Fose is not an isolated case. Many families have suffered the unimaginable pain of losing a child to violence, and as more stories emerge, it becomes evident that urgent action is needed. Community leaders, activists, and concerned citizens are clamoring for effective measures to combat this epidemic, with some calling for extreme solutions, including the reinstatement of the death penalty for those who commit these unspeakable acts.

The emotional toll on the community is palpable, as residents grapple with the reality that their children may not be safe even within their own neighborhoods. Parents are left in fear, worrying about the safety of their own children, while advocates for children’s rights call for greater protections and support systems.

It is time for society to stand together and demand change. We need to advocate for safer environments for our children, hold perpetrators accountable, and ensure that those who prey on the innocent face the full force of the law. The safety and well-being of our children should be a top priority for every community and government agency.

In light of these events, I invite you to support my reporting and farming initiatives aimed at raising awareness about these critical issues. Your contributions can help amplify the voices of those affected by these tragedies and foster community resilience.

Together, we can work towards a future where our children can live free from fear and violence.
