Why Doesn’t the Mormon Church Teach Obvious End-Times Bible Doctrine Like the 7-Year Tribulation?
Posted June 1, 2025 | End Times Watch
(All of my writings below are my own opinion. I do not speak for any church).
As someone immersed in the study of the end times, I frequently come across doctrine in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible that is so clear—especially concerning certain events that are yet to take place. Yet The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints doesn’t even mention these things.
The Church claims to have a prophet, seer, and revelator—someone whose primary spiritual responsibility is to know what is coming and lead the people through it. Yet, there is nothing coming from him concerning end-times teachings. So, why is this? Why is something so clearly taught in the Bible ignored by a church prophet?
As I studied this question, the answer became obvious. And if you are a member of this church, I urge you to take the time to read what I’ve written here.
Many believers today sense that something is wrong. They read the King James Bible and see plain warnings about a coming 7-year Tribulation—a time of judgment, deception, and spiritual testing before the return of Jesus Christ. But strangely, these warnings are absent from the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).
Why?
If this is clearly taught in the Bible, why do LDS leaders avoid it? And what are the dangers of leaving it out?
Let’s take a closer look.
What the Bible Clearly Teaches
The 7-year Tribulation is not a fringe idea. It’s detailed in both the Old and New Testaments:
Daniel 9:27 describes a final “week” (seven years) in which a covenant is confirmed and then broken halfway through.
Matthew 24 contains Jesus’ own words warning of a time of great tribulation, unlike anything the world has ever seen.
Revelation 6–19 describes God’s judgments: war, famine, plagues, persecution, and the rise of the Antichrist.
2 Thessalonians 2 warns of a great falling away and the coming of the man of sin who will exalt himself above all that is called God.
This isn’t obscure prophecy—it’s straightforward and detailed. It is important information God intended for us to know before Jesus Christ returns. It’s certainly not something to be hidden from the followers of Christ.
Why LDS Leaders Don’t Preach It
Despite the Bible’s clarity, LDS leaders avoid teaching the Tribulation for several key reasons:
1. They Use a Different Prophetic Framework (This Is Very Telling)
LDS doctrine is shaped not only by the Bible but also by the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and modern prophets. These writings often reinterpret biblical prophecy to support a narrative centered on the LDS Church—not on Israel, global persecution, or a literal 7-year timeline.
2. They Avoid Doomsday Speculation
LDS leaders repeatedly caution members not to speculate about signs and timelines. While that may sound wise, it unintentionally suppresses God’s actual warnings found in Scripture.
3. They Prioritize Obedience Over Urgency
The LDS message emphasizes staying in the Church, paying tithing, doing temple work, and being nice. While those may seem admirable, it can leave people spiritually numb—focused on church activity instead of spiritual alertness.
4. They May Be Protecting the Church’s Image
Apocalyptic warnings don’t align with the polished, respectable, and welcoming image the Church tries to maintain. Preaching about a future Antichrist and global destruction would create tension—especially as the Church partners with governments and interfaith groups.
The Real Danger: A Church That Doesn’t Warn
The Bible is clear: pastors, prophets, and leaders must warn the people.
“Son of man, I have made thee a watchman… therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.”
— Ezekiel 3:17
When churches silence God’s Word for the sake of institutional comfort, their people suffer. And in the case of the Tribulation, the cost could be eternal.
What Happens When the Warning Is Ignored?
1. Believers Will Be Caught Off Guard
People who are told “everything will get better” may lose faith when suffering comes. Jesus warned of a time when:
“Many shall be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.” (Matthew 24:10)
The word offended here means to fall away—because they weren’t prepared.
2. False Religion Will Fill the Gap
This, I believe, is the most telling and dangerous reason for the silence of LDS leaders. Please read this with your spiritual eyes open—see the danger you face if you continue to ignore the Bible’s teachings about the last days.
Revelation 17 describes a false religious system riding the beast. A one-world religion is coming, and the Church isn’t talking about that either. This religion will be under the rule of the False Prophet. Through him, all current religions will be gathered into one.
This church will appear moral, spiritual, and peaceful—but it will deceive the world. Churches that refuse to join this system will not be able to “buy or sell.” They won’t have access to their money, temples, churches, or any other assets.
Now consider this: Why did the Mormon Church secretly stockpile over 200 BILLION dollars for the end times? Why would they save this money if they weren’t planning to use it? It is my strong opinion that they intend to join this one-world religion. Failure to do so would mean losing their assets to the Antichrist—the Beast. Do you believe they would surrender their wealth in order to remain faithful to God? Time will surely tell.
The Church is approaching a crossroads where it will need to publicly choose a side—Jesus Christ, or Satan and the one-world religion. You and I—and all churches—cannot serve two masters. The time has come to choose.
I believe LDS leadership is fully aware of end-times prophecy, including the 7-year Tribulation and the one-world religion. Knowing this and not preparing YOU is very dangerous. Why wouldn’t they want you to know?
See Revelation 17:1-5 (KJV) – The Great Whore and Revelation 13:11-12 (KJV) – The Second Beast (False Prophet)
Let me walk you through it, (again, this is my opinion):
I believe the Church intends to join the one-world religion to retain its power and assets. All that remains is for the church to “sell it” to the members. To convince you that joining this one church is the right thing to do. Will you follow your Church into the Lake of Fire and spend eternity with Satan? Yes, that is a bold question—but that is where this is headed. I urge you to take pause and realize the possibility of this happening. Ignoring this will result in spiritual consequesnces for you which you are not prepared for.
Don’t just take my word for it. I believe the Church will soon begin to promote the idea of a global religion, perhaps even in a future General Conference. The Church already emphasizes interfaith unity, attending interreligious councils and meeting with the Pope, Islamic leaders, and others.
They might frame a global religious partnership as fulfilling prophecy—building Zion or preparing the earth for Christ’s return.
Possible language that the church might use to sell this concept to its members:
“We are fulfilling Isaiah’s vision that all nations shall flow unto the mountain of the Lord.”
Another possible selling tactic – Temple Access as a Global Spiritual Center
The Church may reframe temples as universal places of meditation, family unity, and peace—more philosophical than doctrinal.
They could open certain temples to public or ecumenical use, gradually detaching from their exclusive, covenantal purpose.
Possible Hook:
“The temple is for all people who seek peace and goodness.”
You are aware that the church has built and is building a massive number of temples, I’m certain. Here is the data:
Temple Statistics (as of June 2025)
- Dedicated Temples: 202
- Temples Scheduled for Dedication: 4
- Temples Under Construction: 50
- Temples with Announced Groundbreaking Dates: 2
- Temples with Published Site Locations: 56
- Temples Announced (Planning Stage): 52
Since President Russell M. Nelson became the church president in 2018, he has announced 185 new temples, which accounts for over half of the current total.
Did you know that temples will NOT survive the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? It is not that Jesus Christ does not have the power to do something this miraculous, because He does have that power. It is because temples will not be needed in the place where Jesus Christ will reside…”Heaven.” Let’s take a look at scripture, and not just anyone’s opinion:
Revelation 21:22 (KJV)
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”
Meaning and Context:
In the vision of the New Jerusalem, John sees a city that radiates with the glory of God. But unlike earthly cities—even ancient Jerusalem—this city has no physical temple building. Why?
Because:
- “The Lord God Almighty and the Lamb” (Jesus Christ) are the temple.
- God is no longer represented by a place or structure.
- His presence is immediate, total, and unmediated.
Contrast with Earthly Temples:
- In the Old Testament, the temple was where God met His people—through priests, sacrifices, and rituals.
- In the New Testament, Jesus became the final High Priest and the perfect sacrifice, making direct access to God possible.
- In the New Heaven and New Earth, we won’t need a temple, because God dwells fully and eternally with us.
Supporting Verses:
- Revelation 21:3 (KJV)
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them…”
- John 4:21-24 (KJV) (Jesus to the woman at the well)
“The hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father…
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
Profound Truth:
In eternity, we won’t need a temple—because we will live in the direct presence of God Himself.
So, with that knowledge, WHY IS THE CHURCH BUILDING SO MANY TEMPLES, just to watch them destroyed during the 7-year tribulation period? The only “religious’ answer is to get as many members to do “their work” as possible before the end times. That may very well be the case.
But a realistic possible “mortal” reason might be (again, only my opinion), to use in the deceptive process of the one-world religion, to deceive many into following the antichrist, (satan). I’m sorry to be the one that has to give you this news. But my love and dedication are 100% with Jesus Christ, and not with any church.
Just be prepared for your world to fall apart when you discover the truth…as mine has. I did not ask for the deception that the church has been a part of. As hard as it was to accept the fact that they could deceive me, I’m grateful that I will not be deceived any further by following Christ without the false teachings that I have been taught. That in itself is worth the hurt from someone once trusted so deeply. My eternity is certain…I will live with Jesus Christ because of His saving grace through His atonement. I will also be judged by my GOOD works, (not sins) and receive the crowns of glory that He has spoken of in the New Testament of the KJV Bible.
Church leaders that have spent time deceiving us members will one day be accountable for their false teachings, and actions. There are also scriptures relating to this event in the New Testament. I’m sorry that they will face this harsh judgment, but it seems well deserving for the hurt that they have caused so many of us.
If you continue to blindly follow such a leader into a one world religion, can you see the catastrophic consequences?
3. The Gospel Will Be Replaced with False Hope
If people believe their temple recommend or good deeds will save them, they’ve missed the real gospel. Do you think that the church would ever deceive you? I didn’t, until I studied the bible solely. The church teaches that you must follow their teachings to be saved. But, it is not through your works that will make a difference in the life after death. The scriptures teach us this concept. Just read these with a desire to know the truth:
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Romans 11:6 (KJV)
“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.”
Galatians 2:16 (KJV)
“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ…
for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
Romans 4:2-5 (KJV)
“For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
Galatians 3:10-11 (KJV)
“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse…
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.”
Titus 3:5-7 (KJV)
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
Philippians 3:9 (KJV)
“And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”
John 1:17 (KJV)
“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
So, where do works come into play? I invite you to find that answer by yourself by studying the bible regarding the Two Judgments that will occur. (Oh by the way, that another concept that the church never taught… FRUSTRATING!!!)
The Tribulation will separate true believers from the religious crowd. The true gospel will endure. Anything else will collapse.
Final Thought
If you’re in any church that avoids teaching the clear prophecies of the Bible—especially those concerning the 7-year Tribulation—you must seek the truth for yourself. Stop relying on a man with an institution agenda. Take responsibility to learn the truth of the end times for yourself and your family. If you don’t study the Bible in this context, you will face additional hardship trying to remain a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
As a 65-year faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I discovered the dishonesty of Church leaders—not because I wanted to prove them wrong, but because I wanted to find the truth. And what I found conflicted with their teachings. That discovery brought painful feelings of betrayal. How could the people I once trusted entirely be so deceptive? Now I know.
You don’t necessarily have to leave your religion should you become aware of this deception—but you must have a direct relationship with God to spirtitualy survive. Receive and follow the personal revelation He will give you. Use that knowledge to prepare for what’s coming. Pray, pray, and pray some more to learn the truth, for that is what God wants for you as well.
God gave us prophecy not to scare us, but to prepare us.
“Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.”
— Mark 13:33
I have had many experiences where God led me to safety… and I’m sure you have too. Trust in Him. It really is that simple. Follow His lead above any other person—regardless of their title. You can respect someone (like the prophet) and still choose to follow God. You must know that their MAY come a time when the directions from both God and the “prophet” will be different.
The real question is: Do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ strong enough to trust His guidance over someone you’ve been taught to follow, no matter what?
If the answer is no, then make that your priority. Work on your relationship with Him and rely on His spiritual guidance—and you will never be deceived.
As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we care about one another. Even when the information is difficult to share. It is my prayer that by reaching out to you, you will be able to see deception when it is packaged neatly in the wrappings of religious loyalty.
Christ gave us this warning:
Matthew 24:24 (KJV)
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
You and me are the “Very Elect” that this scripture mentions. I’m not saying that we have a false prophet. My point is that we are the targets for deception. Are you prepared to see this deception when it comes, as God has warned us about?
Thank you for supporting my writings. Stay up to date with the scripture / news of the end-times, and ask others to subscribe to our free blog at www.EndTimesWatch.blog . My intent is not to bash the church, but to learn the truth of the end-times…There is a big difference here. My teachings are out of love for all of the members, rather than hate or disrespect for the church. We all are in the pursuit of the truth, regardless of where it takes us. Let me show you where God is taking me for the truth of the end times.
May you Trust God to be with you today, and always. Much Love and Prayers headed your way.

The foundation of every religion begins with a physical commitment to the cause. But the role of religion then creates a spiritual bond that can only be broken in Christ and by trusting the gospel message. IE. You cant walk away from a previous commitment; it has to be severed at the Cross of Christ.
