What can a story about a Plane Crash tell us about LIFE?

I’ve had some odd DREAMS. And Dreams are how most of my books have come to me.

 

I felt compelled to write down the following when I got out of Bed this morning following a Dream:

 

Over and over again it came back: “out of spec” but nothing to hint at total failure. No matter how many times run through the simulator. Yet that is what happened. Flight 102, complete catastrophic failure. All on board lost. 250 passengers and crew – lost.

Now I sit here, typing this as an extension – I am NOT SURE exactly what I am supposed to do with that?!?!?

 

I do know, that somehow it needs to exist to pivot and turn into something that promotes LIFE and LIVING and indeed the (like the Shooting Star “Last Chance”* song goes) “You could be dead tomorrow, today may be your Last Chance to drink from Life’s Well” line/philosophy.

I wish that would have come to me in late June – the same time the Dream (June 29th to be exact) that spawned my latest book The Book Of Kennedy (no, not the JFK RFK et al “Camelot” clan, but “Kennedy” a 20-something female) about LIFE and LIVING and trying to remain positive and get GOOD out of Life while so many negative-nellies try drag us down daily.

 

That book just fully officially dropped (the Softcopy released) on August 1st while other versions (HardCover, Audio, eBook) all came out in the days before that.

 

I could have woven that in somehow, somewhere within, some way; again in the making the point We can be hit by a Bus or a Garbage Truck later today – what are we doing with our time to try make this Planet a BETTER PLACE?!?!? for whatever time we have on it.

 

We do not know our time – when our days will indeed come to an end.

Over on FascistBook, where I shared (in “BooksGoSocialAuthors” Group) this also – and link to this piece - Laurence O’Bryan asked: “What happened to flight 102?”

Sadly I do not know.
I do not know if that Dream was calling my attention to something that happened (and Thank You, by your comment I now know that perhaps I need Research and see if that Dream matches FACTS of a real Plane Crash or not and therefore something I need look further into and write about), if it is a Prophecy to come (a premonition), or indeed just pure fictional Dream. Why that FLIGHT # come to me? Why that specific body count? etc.?
As I said – I felt compelled to write that down, but not know what to do with it beyond that. My Fictional Stories come to me via Dreams (ever since I was Young, I have many beyond the couple (Fictional, only 2, of my overall 6) International books of mine still/currently available. I will now need (and with your help, with your prompting, so again THANK YOU for chiming in) to PRAY on all this and HOPE to get further instruction of IF indeed I need to go beyond just sharing the Dream with you all as I have here and in the B4IN piece: /books/2025/08/what-can-a-story-about-a-plane-crash-tell-us-about-life-2560988.html
Always in the back of my memory will be the infamous Crash of Flight 255 (that I had to look up that #: https://www.google.com/search?q=what+was+the+infamous+flight+number+crash+in+detroit+with+1+survivor) with the MIRACLE BABY sole Survivor as my Godfather (Thomas Coogan (former Mayor of Detroit Suburb Melvindale)) and Wife (Elizabeth, aka: Betty) happened to be on I-94 (the Freeway goes along Detroit Metro Airport heading inbound toward DTW that day and therefore they were there and among those who got out of their Cars to try provide aid/comfort to any Survivors they could found (again, only that Baby that day; and no they were not the ones came across the Child among the wreckage). A horrible day/memory seared into their minds the remainder of their Lives of the Death/Destruction that day and yet MIRACLE of that Child surviving after the Plane didn’t have sufficient lift, clipped the corner of the AVIS (I think) Car Rental (N.E. corner of the Airport) Building (which was/is Historic old part of the original Airport in Romulus MI (Detroit, Downriver, Suburb of Detroit (Detroit City Airport, much smaller, is in Detroit City limits, DTW is an International size/level Airport)), then Crashed onto land next to I-94 Eastbound, and along Middlebelt Road.
Also note, I will be adding your Question and my Response to the B4IN thread/piece.

Maybe my next book needs be about Flight 255 and the Miracle Baby (unless indeed I find there was/is a real Flight 102 with that many died) but sure there were/are books about that already. Is this a calling for ME to create ONE MORE?!?!?

Note from the author: I want to state as a warning: this book contains not one line of dialogue. I feel it important to say that because a reviewer of my “TERROR STRIKES: COMING SOON TO A CITY NEAR YOU” novel once wrote that she didn’t think there was enough dialogue in it. Well in all interviews I’d ever given regarding that book I never promised it to be a dialogue laden book. In fact that while having some dialogue it is heavy narrative style – as this book is entirely in narration style –   versus Plato’s Dialogues, Philip Roth’s “Deception,” Steinbeck’s “The Grapes of Wrath,” which known for extensive use of dialogue [courtesy of asking Google for that answer].

Dear Friends, once again FASCISTBOOK has DISABLED my Account.

I have been BLOCKED from posting/sharing to Groups/Pages (EVEN MY OWN) for weeks already!

I have, of course, appealed (for what little value that is worth)!

Just before getting DISABLED (which is beyond the LOCKED STATUS (I’ll include that prior email text I sent out below)) which I fear my be for good this time!*  I got a WARNING (see attached image) but SOME COMMIECRAT there didn’t think it was far enough for pointing out the reality of the MEME they found offensive (POSTED WAY BACK IN FEBRUARY)!
 

* Facebook, of course, not only being an important Battleground we must be on, but the FB API is used by many Newspapers and/or Websites as your method to access their Comments sections (like DETNEWS, that I am now therefore/thereby LOCKED OUT OF)!

 

I got a LOCKED OUT screen (Sun 5/24)  re: Violation of Community Standards (I have in the past had a few you thought Violated Standards which I appealed and were over-turned but never anything taken to this degree). I thought long and hard over why my Account may have gotten LOCKED. I think while I was SHARING someones meme (Political in nature) I may have accidentally shared it with one of the Groups to which I belong that may (as their individual Group Rules) frown on Political Posts and instead of folks there-in kindly reporting the Post/meme to the Admin for removal from said Group they vindictively/spitefully (cuz it was an opinion they do not hold, tried to get me suspended) reported it to the FaceBook system and (as a Retired IT guy) betting the Automated system LOCKED ME rather than was a conscious decision by a real Human Monitoring the system.

I have been a member since 2006 so I hope you will reinstate me and I will try to be more careful about not mixing my “type of Posts” in/with the different “Stated purposes of any given Groups” wishes. FYI: I had just (on Sat 5/23) uploaded a Notarized Affidavit of Identity for review (as well as went through all the u/l Drivers License steps) to prove I am who I say I am, not pretending to be anyone else and use my Legal Name on FB not an alias, etc….
