The Age of Aquarius: A Key To Understanding the Occult Elite’s Mindset
When one examines belief systems throughout history, one often encounters the concept of “ages” or “eras” – a period of a few thousand years ruled by specific forces. While each culture articulates this phenomenon differently, they amazingly tend to point in similar directions, as if the concept of ages is universal to human experience.
It would not be an exaggeration to state that many people feel that we are currently at the dawn of a new era, as if it were palpable in the air. After centuries of relative stability, numerous truths once considered immutable and simply facts of life are now questioned and redefined at their core. The concepts of gender, morality, and sexuality have become fluid … like water pouring from a jug.
Appropriately enough, that is the main symbol associated with the sign of Aquarius. According to the calculations of astrotheologists and occult researchers, we are right at the threshold of the fabled Aquarian Age. As humanity moves—whether organically or forcibly—towards new paradigms, age-old predictions appear to be coming true.
The concept of ages is also mentioned numerous times in the Bible. The coming of Jesus Christ is said to have revolutionized the “old age” and brought forth a new era in salvation history. The book of Revelation anticipates the full realization of God’s kingdom, preceded by a period of great turmoil and tribulations, culminating in the rise of the antichrist.
Could this biblical period coincide with the Age of Aquarius as defined by occultists? As we’ll see, some researchers, such as famed psychoanalyst Carl Jung, believe so.
One thing is for certain: Those who rule the world believe in the coming of the Aquarian Age. Knowing this fact allows us to better understand the deeper motivations behind their actions and agendas.
From the Piscean to the Aquarian Age
We all know that one astronomical year is the time for Earth to complete one orbit around the sun. On a much grander scale, one Great Year is when the sun moves through all twelve constellations – a process that takes around 26,000 years (about 2,100 years per constellation).
Each sign of the zodiac consists of thirty degrees, and as the sun loses about one degree every seventy two years, it regresses through one entire constellation (or sign) in approximately 2,160 years, and through the entire zodiac in about 25,920 years. This retrograde motion is called the precession of the equinoxes. This means that in the course of about 25,920 years, which constitute one Great Solar or Platonic Year, each one of the twelve constellations occupies a position at the vernal equinox for nearly 2,160 years, then gives place to the previous sign.
Among the ancients the sun was always symbolized by the figure and nature of the constellation through which it passed at the vernal equinox. For nearly the past 2,000 years the sun has crossed the equator at the vernal equinox in the constellation of Pisces (the Two Fishes). For the 2,160 years before that it crossed through the constellation of Aries (the Ram). Prior to that the vernal equinox was in the sign of Taurus (the Bull).
– Manly P. Hall, The Secret Teachings of All Ages
According to occultists, the world’s main religions are associated with the sun, and, whether consciously or unconsciously, they’ve adopted the symbol related to the zodiac sign of the Great Year they’ve ruled.
For instance, the sun has been in Pisces for the past 2000 years. Coincidentally, the fish has been one of the main symbols representing Christianity.

In early Christian history, the ichthys (aka Jesus fish) symbol held “the most sacred significance.” It remains one of the most prominent symbols in Christianity.
According to occult figures such as Max Heindel, leader of modern Rosicrucianism, this phenomenon could be observed throughout history.
At the end of the Taurean age, about 4,000 years ago, “God’s people” fled from the wrath to come when they left Egypt, the land where they worshiped the Bull. They were led in their flight to the promised land by Moses, whose head in ancient esoteric pictures is adorned with wreathed ram’s horns, symbolical of the fact that he was herald of the Aryan age of 2100 years, during which each Easter morning the vernal sun colored the doorposts red as with the blood of the lamb, when it passed over the equator in the CONSTELLATION (not the SIGN) of the ram Aries.
Similarly, when the sun by precession was approaching the watery constellation Pisces, the Fishes, John immersed the converts to the Messianic religion in the waters of Jordan, and Jesus called his disciples “fishers” of men. As the “lamb” was slain at the Passover while the sun went through the constellation Aries, the Ram, so the faithful have in obedience to the command of their church fed on fishes during Lent in the present cycle of Pisces, the Fishes.
At the time when the sun by precession left the constellation Taurus, the Bull, the people who worshiped that animal were pronounced heathen and idolaters. A new symbol of the Savior, or Messias, was found in the lamb, which correspond to the constellation Aries; but when the sun by precession left that sign, Judaism became a religion of the past, and thenceforth the bishops of the new Christian religion wore a miter shaped like a fish’s head to designate their standing as ministers of the church during the Piscean Age, which is now drawing to a close.
– Max Heindel, Teachings of an Initiate

According to Max Heindel, mitres worn by bishops are designed to look like fish heads.
Humanity is supposedly set to move from the Piscean age to a new Aquarian age, characterized by its own set of symbols representing the main traits of the era.
Aquarius is called the Sign of the Water Bearer, or the man with a jug of water on his shoulder mentioned in the New Testament. This is sometimes shown as an angelic figure, supposedly androgynous, either pouring water from an urn or carrying the vessel upon its shoulder.
– Manly P. Hall, The Secret Teachings of All Ages

Aquarius as depicted by Johannes Hevelius in his Firmamentum Sobiescianum sive Uranographia (1687). The water bearer’s androgyny is rather appropriate in our era of gender-blurring.
In the quote above, Manly P. Hall referred to Luke 22:10 in the New Testament, where Jesus talks about a “man carrying a pitcher of water.”
And He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house which he enters.”
Some esoterically interpret this biblical passage as a reference to the coming of the Aquarian age. Interestingly enough, in the Biblical verses immediately preceding Luke 22:10, Jesus discusses “the Signs of the Times and the End of the Age.”
So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?”
And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’Therefore do not go after them. But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.”
Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost. By your patience possess your souls.
– Luke 22:7-19
In short, Jesus predicts that Christians would be persecuted during the “End of the Age”. Occult schools such as Rosicrucianism also agree that those who remain faithful to old religions (such as Christianity) will be deemed heathens in the new age.
By viewing the future through the perspective of the past, it is evident that a new age is to be ushered in when the sun enters the constellation Aquarius, the Water−bearer, a few hundred years hence. Judging by the events of the past it is reasonable to expect that a new phase of religion will supersede our present system, revealing higher and nobler ideals than our present conception of the Christian religion. It is therefore certain that if in that day we would not be classed among the idolaters and heathen, we must prepare to align ourselves with these new ideals.
– Heindel, Op. Cit.
While members of occult secret societies generally view the Age of Aquarius positively, other researchers fear it will usher in a new dark age.
Proponents of medieval astrology suggest that the Pisces world where religion is the opiate of the masses will be replaced in the Aquarian age by a world ruled by secretive, power-hungry elites seeking absolute power over others; that knowledge in the Aquarian age will only be valued for its ability to win wars; that knowledge and science will be abused, not industry and trade; and that the Aquarian age will be another dark age in which religion is considered offensive.
– Zoller, Robert (September 2002). “The use of archetypes in prediction”. The Federation of Australian Astrologers (FAA) Journal
This assessment of the Aquarian age, where “secretive, power-hungry elites” rule the world, is only becoming more relevant and accurate as time passes. Furthermore, it parallels the tribulation period foretold in Revelation prior to the coming of the antichrist.

Psychoanalyst Carl Jung believed that the two fishes of the Pisces symbol represent the start and the ending of the Piscean age. The upright fish represents Jesus Christ, and the downward fish represents the Antichrist.
In his book Aion, Carl Jung describes the Age of Aquarius as a dark and spiritually deficient period that will “constellate the problem of the union of the opposites“. He adds:
- “It will no longer be possible to write off evil as the mere privation of good; its real existence will have to be recognized in the age of Aquarius“.
According to Jung, the antichrist will emerge from this era in which evil is normalized, combined with widespread feelings of fear and anxiety. He also states that the Age of Aquarius will reveal “secrets” of an esoteric and psychological nature, where spirituality will become an individual experience.
In short, many believe that the Age of Aquarius will see religions lose relevancy as humans seek godhood within themselves. While good and evil used to be defined by religions, these concepts will gain “fluidity” in the Aquarian Age.
Some believe that this already happened. Aleister Crowley, the most prominent and influential occultist of the 20th century, redefined morality with the motto of the new age: “Do What You Will.”

Crowley’s motto means that good is whatever one feels is good. This philosophy has defined the cultural climate of the past decades.
Crowley perceives the new age from a slightly different perspective than seen above. He believed that a new era began in 1904, when humanity began moving away from a “paternalistic” society to gain the characteristics of a child. He calls this new age the Aeon of Horus.
The Aeon of Horus

The Aeon card from Aleister Crowley’s Thoth tarot deck symbolically represents the fundamentals of the Aeon of Horus.
Aleister Crowley stated that the last 2,000 years were the “Age of Osiris.” Osiris was the “king of the living and ruler of the dead,” and his Age was characterized by strong governments and religions, notably Christianity’s “emphasis on death, suffering, sorrow, and the denial of the body”. However, Crowley claims that humanity entered the Age of Horus – the child of Osiris – in the 20th century. In this phase, humans would learn to seek to become gods themselves.
“In plain language, the Aeon of Horus means that the Godhead is being passed down to the individual who needs to learn to activate and find the God-Within themselves. This latest Aeon sees the beginning of the end of Divine Power and authority being owned by kings, queens, religions, governments, big institutions and dictatorships, which will increasingly all begin to fail spectacularly. The individual will have the opportunity to become fully liberated, in charge of their own spiritual destiny.”
– Paul Dunne, The Magic of the New Aquarian Age and the New Aeon of Horus
Aleister Crowley believes that the strong structures of the old age paralleled Osiris as a fatherly figure. Conversely, in the Aeon of Horus, humanity would take on the traits of a child.
After finding the “Stele of Revealing” in an Egyptian museum (it was exhibit #666), Crowley wrote this about the coming New Aeon:
“Horus rules the present period of 2,000 years, beginning in 1904. Everywhere his government is taking root. Observe for yourselves the decay of the sense of sin, the growth of innocence and irresponsibility, the strange modifications of the reproductive instinct with a tendency to become bi-sexual or epicene, the childlike confidence in progress combined with nightmare fear of catastrophe, against which we are yet half unwilling to take precautions.
Consider the outcrop of dictatorships, only possible when moral growth is in its earliest stages, and the prevalence of infantile cults like Communism, Fascism, Pacifism, Health Crazes, Occultism in nearly all its forms, religions sentimentalized to the point of practical extinction.
Consider the popularity of the cinema, the wireless, the football pools and guessing competitions, all devices for soothing fractious infants, no seed of purpose in them.
Consider sport, the babyish enthusiasms and rages which it excites, whole nations disturbed by disputes between boys.
Consider war, the atrocities which occur daily and leave us unmoved and hardly worried.
We are children.”
– Aleister Crowley, Book of the Law on the New Aeon / Age of Horus
In his book Perdurabo: The Life of Aleister Crowley, occultist Richard Kaczynski observes that Crowley’s Aeon of Horus aligns with the main characteristics attributed to the Age of Aquarius. The synchronicity between Crowley’s work and the evolving spiritual landscape of the 20th century, which abandoned the 10 commandments to embrace “do what you will,” epitomizes the Age of Aquarius.
Considering that Aleister Crowley called himself “Great Beast 666” (the evil, powerful figure from the Book of Revelation), one can wonder if this era of spiritual liberation is actually a stepping stone towards global satanism.
In Conclusion
Various sources, including occult and biblical texts, discuss a new age in which human spirituality will be drastically transformed. Depending on the source, this next age is either described as a time of innovation, liberation, and enlightenment or a time of evil, darkness, and confusion.
Meanwhile, the occult elite, which embraces the coming of the Age of Aquarius, has been working hard to force its most crucial aspect on the world: fluidity.
Good and evil, male and female, hetero and homosexuality: The rigid boundaries of the past are gone, and everything has become relative to personal experience. We are even seeing massive fluidity in world populations as the blurring of national boundaries favors the merging of cultures to create one global melting pot.
Are these things happening organically? Or are they being forced by secretive global powers? Is humanity naturally evolving according to energies emitted by astral bodies? Or is humanity being prepared for a New World Order that will crown the antichrist? Is it all God’s will? Or is it all humans playing God? Can all these things be true at the same time? These answers will eventually flow out from the urn of the proverbial waterbearer.
