Macgregor criticizes the tens of billions of dollars in unauthorized military expenditures for the conflict, arguing that the financial drain and depleted munitions stockpiles make continued operations unfeasible and damaging to the American economy. He asserts that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is acutely aware of this strategic shift, predicting that once U.S. bases and forces depart, the long-standing era of American dominance in the Middle East will be replaced by Chinese and Russian influence. Consistent with his long-standing foreign policy stance, Macgregor advocates for closing overseas military bases, reforming the U.S. military command structure, and shifting toward a hemispheric defense strategy.
