WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
I like to ask questions to get people thinking about something they have never considered. This is in the Bible but most have never noticed it or heard a sermon about it. Notice that under the Law people were under the authority of “tutors and governors”. This is plural so it cannot mean Moses. Then he goes on to say that these “tutors and governors” were elemental spirits. This is emphasized again in Galatians 4: 8-9. What does it mean?
Galatians 4: 1-3 RSV I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no better than a slave, though he is the owner of all the estate;
But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
So with us; when we were children, we were slaves to the elemental spirits of the universe.
Galatians 4: 8-9 RSV Formerly, when you did not know God, you were in bondage to beings that by nature are no gods;
but now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly elemental spirits, whose slaves you want to be once more?
Mike Clinton, 06/21/2018. Hiawassee Ga.
Mike I realize you will not nor can you agree but you are twisting the Word to make your point?
“So with us; when we were children, we were slaves to the elemental spirits of the universe.”
Mike we all inherited carnal human nature from our father Adam, and that nature can not obey our Father –NOT ever! We are enslaved, in bondage to, the basic evil nature we were born with and that nature causes us to sin and transgressions of the Law places us “UNDER” the penalty of Death. And that evil nature is what rules and controls the entire world. The only spirit involve is Satan and his fallen ones.
Christ came to “circumcise, cut away, our carnal nature and replace it with the HOLY Righteous Divine Nature of the Father.
Jeremiah 31: 33 But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Verse 33 states the Lord is placing in our inward parts God’s Torah i.e. HIS Law. Our nature must become the same as our Father’s.
If a person wants to be enslaved once more then simply turn back to sinning against our Father – but I know that is not what you are referring to you are pointing to the Torah.
To you and all 40,000 favors bondage is having to obey our Father and His law.
