Trey Foshee's Newly Opened Galaxy Taco Debuts Sunday Brunch

SAN DIEGO, CA (MMD Newswire) August 24, 2015 — Trey Foshee, executive chef/partner of La Jolla’s acclaimed George’s at the Cove announces the addition of brunch at his new casual Mexican eatery Galaxy Taco in La Jolla Shores.

Available on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. beginning August 30, the brunch menu will include Chilaquiles (poached egg, chile, queso fresco, green onion, crème fraiche), Huevos Rancheros (salsa, eggs, cotija, avocado, onion, pico de gallo, papalo), Albondigas (Mexican meatball soup), Steak and Eggs (rajas, potatoes, corn, guacamole), Tongue Hash (potato, egg, poblano, hollandaise, salsa verde), Sopes (poached egg, chicken, beans, arbol salsa, potato) and Waffles (seasonal fruit, cajeta-mascarpone, maple syrup).

From the bar, the brunch menu will include a Sangrita Mimosa (seasonal sangrita, sparkling wine), Blacks Beach (cold brewed coffee, mezcal, orgeat, Montenegro amaro) and Smoky Maria (mezcal, tequila, lime, chipotle Bloody Mary mix).

“Brunch is a time for friends and families to get together for a leisurely meal, and since we’ve got a great covered patio at Galaxy Taco and we’re dog-friendly we thought an expanded Sunday offering would be popular with our guests,” says Foshee.

Galaxy Taco offers other weekly events including Tuesday Tastings and Happy Hour. Every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. guests can join beverage director Mark Broadfoot and a representative from the week’s featured tequila, mezcal, wine or beer for a tasting and two tacos. The cost for Tuesday Tastings is $20 per person and reservations are required by emailing GalaxyTacoBeverage@gmail.com. Upcoming tastings include El Silencio Mezcal on September 1 and Tequila Ocho on September 8. Happy Hour is available every Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Specials include $1 off all tacos, $10 Modelo Especial Beer and Cimarron Blanco Tequila Shot combo, $9 Classic Margarita, $12 Classic Cadillac Margarita, and $1 off house wines and extra cold draft Modelo Especial and Benchmark Galaxy Corn Lager.
