Mr. Scarlett is unhappy about remarks that Mr. Trump has made lately about Mexican Immigrants. The burning of the tie is symbolic of Mr. Scarlett’s rejection of Trump’s recent statements about the links between crime and Immigrants from Mexico.

In recent statements, Trump claimed that Mexico is sending certain types of criminals to America and they commit very heinous crimes against American citizens. Trump specifically talked about the assaults against women committed by people who came to the U.S. from Mexico. Mr. Scarlett believes these statements were evidence of racism and not merely a retelling of certain facts by Trump that were reported to law enforcement.

Mr. Scarlett also believes that Mr. Trump is not being honest when he talks about how, as President, he would be tough on China. The Trump Store in Trump Towers is proof of this.
