% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Guy Fieri is known for his love of food and on select Carnival Cruise ships, passengers can try out some of Guy’s very own creations by visiting Guy’s Burger Joint. The menu is very concise and the burgers are outstanding. Located on the Pool Deck Guy’s Burger Joint is Open for Lunch and is included in the price of your Carnival Cruise. It is a nice casual place to enjoy your lunch.

Here’s where to find Guy’s Burger Joint and what burgers you can try.

There are five different types of burgers on the menu but you can also create your own. One of the most popular choices aboard Carnival fleetwide is Guy’s Burger Joints. The Straight Up burger is a shipboard favorite with thousands of Carnival guests on each cruise devouring the delicious 80/20 burgers topped with Super Melty Cheese and their choice of fixings, including Fieri’s signature donkey sauce. The Carnival Horizon is the first ship to feature the new Guy’s Pig & Anchor serving up smoked-on-board barbecue favorites and sides.

Carnival Ships that feature Guy’s Burger Joint

Carnival Cruise Guy’s Burger Joint Menu

While the ambiance of Guy’s Burger Joint is great with its road signs, license plates, and roadside eatery feel, what most diners come for is the menu. At Guy’s the burgers are made by hand and then cooked to order. There are only five menu items on it, but there are plenty of toppings to add to the burgers listed below:

  • The Plain Jane features a beef patty, toasted buns, and super melty cheese (S.M.C.).
  • The Straight Up burger features everything the Plain Jane does with the addition of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles (LTOP), and a secret sauce called donkey sauce. While Guy is pretty tight-lipped about what’s in the donkey sauce, some of the ingredients include Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and mayonnaise.
  • The Pig Patty is just like the Straight Up with the addition of bacon. What’s interesting about this burger is that it can only be found on Carnival Cruise ships.
  • The Chillius Maximus burger is pretty serious. It comes with a spicy onion ring called a Rojo ring, S.M.C., donkey sauce, and chili.
  • The Ringer puts a bit of a twist on the Straight Up. It comes with a barbeque sauce that’s made out of bourbon and brown sugar. It also has S.M.C. and a Rojo ring on it.
  • Veggie Burgers are also available upon request

All are served with hand-cut fries with Guy’s signature seasoning.

If you want to truly customize your burger you can visit the toppings bar and add items like:

-Caramelized onions
-Bacon
-LTOP (lettuce, tomato, onion & pickle)
-Cajun Ranch
-Barbeque Sauce
-Super Melty Cheese (aka SMC)
-Crispy Spicy Onion Ring (aka Rojo Ring)
-Jacked up Secret Sauce (aka Donkey Sauce)

Across Carnival’s ships, Guy’s Burger Joint is usually open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Do you want to know one of the best parts about eating here? You can try as many burgers as you want because they are free as part of the cruise fare.  Interested in booking a cruise for yourself to try one of these amazing burgers? Keyword appertizer, guy fiere, onion ring, vegetables
Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
soaking onion rings in buttermilk 30 minutes then 15 more minutes set aside 45 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 15 minutes
Servings 5 servings
Ingredients
  • 1 quart Canola oil
  • ¾ cup ¾ cup hot sauce (Sriracha)
  • 1 tbl granulated garlic
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 4 cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large sweet onions (Vidalia, Walla Walla, or Maui) cut ¾-inch thick, with center cores discarded
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
Instructions
  • In a heavy-bottom skillet or deep fryer, heat the oil to 360 degrees F. Line a plate with paper towels and have a baking sheet handy. In a shallow bowl, combine the Sriracha hot sauce, garlic, ketchup, and 2 teaspoons of water until blended.
  • Place the buttermilk, flour, and panko into three separate bowls and place them in this work order: buttermilk, flour, Sriracha mixture, panko. Soak the onion rings in the buttermilk for at least 30 minutes. Dip the onion rings into the flour, then the Sriracha mixture, and finish with the panko. Set aside on the baking sheet as you finish. Let them set up for 10 to 20 minutes in the refrigerator before frying. (The batter sticks better that way.)
  • Working in batches, deep-fry the onion rings for about three minutes or until they start to brown. Turn as needed. As you finish, transfer them to the paper towel–lined plate and sprinkle with sea salt. Serve immediately.
