5 Brilliant Beach Holiday Destinations

There’s something unique about spending some peaceful time on the beach, be it the ocean reminding us of the endless opportunities that the world presents or be it the beautiful sand that speaks for the infiniteness of this earth we live in. While most beaches are a great place to relax and contemplate, some more popular beaches are noisy and crowded. For the ultimate relaxation, it is worth going the extra distance to find where you can be alone and at one with nature.

Porto Timoni, Corfu

Porto Timoni is an inherently unique beach, mostly because it is somewhat hidden below the Greek villages of Agios Georgios, Pagi and Afionas. In fact, there are two separate beaches which are disconnected by a small piece of land. Porto Timoni is the bigger piece of land, and the beach is delightfully grassy with dense hills encompassing the two ends of the beach. What makes Porto Timoni more unique is that one end of the beach has regular blue water while the other end has deep blue water. It is relatively unknown so the tourists can enjoy their space on any part of the beach.

Le Morne Beach, Mauritius

If you’re a nature lover, then you’ll love spending your holiday in Mauritius exploring the rural beaches. Located on the west coast of Mauritius, the Le Morne Beach resides at the tip of the imposing Morne Brabant mountain-chain registered as one of the few natural World Heritages by UNESCO. The beach of Le Morne, open for public access, is comfortably reachable from the seaside road. Le Morne boasts miles of silvery sand with great casuarinas trees enclosed by transparent water presenting ideal visibility perfectly suited for scuba diving. The Le Morne Mountains which serve as a great backdrop make the beach perfect for photography as well. An attractive setting for tourists from around the world, the beach has been commonly recognized as the best kite surfing location in the world.

Barbuda, the Caribbean

One of the two main islands of the Caribbean country of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbuda has been described as a heaven on Earth by its admirers. Famous for drawing in high profile visitors such as the late Princess Diana and actor Robert De Niro, the island’s secluded pink and white sand beaches is what makes it so beautiful. The coastline, covered by palm trees, is home to less than 2,000 friendly native inhabitants.

Nilaveli Beach, Sri Lanka

This Sri Lankan beach is truly a hidden gem. The beach offers the golden sands and the blue hue of the Indian Ocean is very attractive. Offshore, the Pigeon Island presents remarkable diving and snorkelling opportunities. The beach is around six kilometres long covering several hotels along the way. Bondi, Australia
