I need to address the claim that people are being denied voting rights. The last six months or so I’ve seen commercials in TV by the NAACP, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and the ACLU. I’ve never seen ads for them before. These ads are asking for donations.

People can donate to any organizations they chose but my problem with these ads is their dishonesty. All three mentioned that among the issues they were fighting for were Voting Rights and Civil Rights.

Let’s start with Voting Rights. What American citizen is being denied voting rights? Democrats say some people don’t have an ID so we shouldn’t require one. Seriously, what American doesn’t have an ID?

If someone doesn’t have an ID wouldn’t a better solution be to help them get an ID rather than risk our voting integrity? After all, not having an ID is a serious handicap for someone. They can’t buy a house or car, have a bank account, get a loan, stay in a hotel, rent a car, fly in a plane, enter Federal buildings, etc. The Left says requiring an ID is denying someone their voting rights. This is what all three of the above mentioned organizations are saying.

They all said laws are being passed restricting mail-in ballots. I hope so. You should hope so too. In 2005 the Carter/Baker Commission investigated voting laws and policies to identify those that could result in voter fraud. They found Mail-in ballots were the greatest threat to election integrity. Instead of restricting Mail-in ballots to those physically incapable of voting in person, the Left has expanded Mail-in ballots. Some Blue states send Mail-in ballots to ALL eligible voters, not just registered voters. Now, let’s examine that practice. In 2024 73.6% of eligible voters registered to vote and only 63.7% of registered voters voted. You can see that sending all eligible voters a ballot would result in tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of ballots available for bad actors to use to commit fraud. Plus, we really don’t know if the person the ballot is addressed to is the person filling out the ballot.

No one wants to prevent any American citizen from voting, what we want to prevent is non-citizens from voting and bad actors from committing fraud. The reason Democrats are fighting so hard to keep all the illegal aliens in the country is to hopefully have them vote.

What is soooo frustrating is that 84% of Americans want voter ID. Congress knows this but they won’t pass laws requiring it. With the Real ID in effect now requiring the Real ID would eliminate non-citizens from voting. The majority of us also are in favor of in person voting, paper ballots and hand counts. But the Left and the media will continue to use their claim that we are denying people voting rights. That is only partially true, we want to deny voting rights to non-citizens.

Now let’s talk about Civil Rights. Not only do minorities have the same rights Whites have, in many ways they have rights Whites don’t have. Average minority students have a better chance getting into Ivy League colleges than excellent White students. Many companies have made it clear Whites need not apply. CRT that says Whites are oppressors and minorities are oppressed and in order to compensate minorities they have to have the advantage. We have Affirmative Action that has given Blacks advantage over Whites for decades. And recently TV commercials would make you think every family was mixed. I used to joke that I thought there must be a clause in every movie contract that required either Samuel Jackson or Octavia Spencer be in the movie but these days minorities are in leading roles in most movies. Hollywood now requires minorities in front and behind the camera in every production.

We elected a Black President twice, in the late 1800’s we had 8 Black Senators and a Black Speaker of the house, Oprah is the richest woman in the country, so exactly what can’t minorities achieve if they are willing to do what it takes to achieve it? It is incredibly insulting to lower standards for minorities. If Blacks don’t do as well in school the NAACP, ACLU and SPLC say it’s due to racism, but I would suggest it has more to do with 72% being raised in a fatherless home and peers that don’t value education. It has been my observation that Blacks who are raised by parents who give them structure and make sure they attend school and study do as well, if not better, than their White counterparts.

There are no laws that deny minorities any rights Whites have. Considering the advantages minorities have now, I’m curious what rights the above mentioned organizations think minorities are being denied.
