MAGA-Hat-Wearing NFL Superstar Nick Bosa Fined $11,255
The National Football League fined edge rusher Nick Bosa $11,255 for displaying a Trump hat during a post-game interview on October 27, just ahead of the presidential election.
According to NBC Sports:
Rule 5, Section 4, Article 8 of the NFL rulebook states that “throughout the period on game-day that a player is visible to the stadium and television audience (including in pregame warm-ups, in the bench area, and during postgame interviews in the locker room or on the field), players are prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office.”
Bosa had said previously that if the fine came, it would be “well worth it.”
“I don’t think my position on speaking about it’s gonna change,” he said. “Clearly, the nation spoke, and we got what we got.”
Bosa makes an average of $34 million per year, including bonuses.
