But Is It TDS To Hate A Con Man?

I’ve been reading John Michael Greer of the former The Archdruid Report and now of Ecosophia for nearly two decades now. I’ve always admired his wide and deep understanding of many things, from history to religion and pagan-based spirituality. There was little I could find to disagree with him on for many years, except that he thought aliens and UFOs were all super-secret American tech with a great PR hoodwinking program (that goes back to the dawn of humanity? Okay, dude!). Other than that–? Not a lot to disagree with, really. Which is obviously quite remarkable.

In addition, I looked forward to reading both his books and his blogposts because I always learned something new and useful, no matter what. If I were to “fansquee” over any particular person on Earth, JMG was my guy. Just purely based upon intellect and knowledge and the perspective he brought to both.

That’s been decaying steadily over the last few years due to his semi-support of Comrade Orange and his beliefs that said dear leader could sort of help us through the U.S.’s inevitable decay!

I understand why Sir Pouts-A-Lot appealed initially to white working class voters to begin with, how they were desperate enough to try anyone who was from outside the typical political system that had been failing them for decades and said the right things while flipping off the “elites” in power. Sure! Populist leaders come about when systems get too entrenched and people’s real concerns are shunted aside for too long.

But Greer now refers to “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as if people don’t have a very legitimate reason to hate the turdball! To me, TDS refers better to people who STILL back that motherfucker up after all the damage he’s done and continues to do. Clearly– clearly he’s a liar. Obviously he’s a con man and a grifter. Without doubt he’s an agent for the Russians and who knows who else? What he did during his first 4 years should have landed the asshole in prison for the rest of his life. He’s a total traitor! Anyone who still voted for him (and there’s credible evidence that he got Musk to help jerry rig the last election) or who likes him now is– well, the kindest I can say is– monstrously ill-informed by un-American propaganda from both inside and outside our nation.

And fuck this BOTH SIDES bullshit! Dems, just as I feared to begin with, have been far too soft and too cooperative towards the dismantling of our entire democracy. They should have hit hard and fast the moment he was out of office the first time. They should have picked him up on the way to the helicopter that flew him to Maralago and plunked his fat ass into prison for treason! But no–! The Old Guard, grossly out of touch with everything for far too long, didn’t see the threat for what it was even as they were fleeing for their lives from insurrectionists. They suck– but not in the same way. Not even remotely.

I watched as alternative news, which was once a pretty good place to find some things not covered by mainstream news, get taken over by bullshit artists of various kinds, including foreign intelligence agents. Did Greer, who admits he’s autistic, figure out the same thing? Nope! At one time, he admitted that Elizabeth Warren would be a much better leader for the slide downwards, but now he’s repeating many of the talking points of the hard right, and I’m left to wonder if he’s been utterly compromised himself or if his intellect is slipping into early senility.

I’m not sure, but it’s clear there is a startling divergence from common sense and even concern for the most bare ethics if anyone can ignore the 99.99999999% of horrific RETARDED INSANE EVIL Trump creates and/or fertilizes with his own shit! Um, no– it’s not okay. It’s not “as bad as the left.” I actually check and double check sources from both sides and have for many years, and people who side with that cheeto snot taco or even claim he’s “just like” the other side are out of their fucking minds.

I also have friends from both sides. But less now than I used to! Some died in the pandemic because they didn’t get vaccinated. Some are so confused about everything, including themselves, that they ran away from me rather than face their shameful truth. However, for those who are left, I have a very difficult time comprehending, let alone respecting, their stance towards our new Nazi overlords. I try, as kindly as I can, and rarely, to explain what’s wrong with this guy, and they answer, “But I like some of what he says…”

Fuck.

I guess being raised by a bully and a con artist means I have a natural and HEALTHY hatred for con artist bullies! You can NOT like “some” of what a sociopath says! Their charm is bullshit to take you in for a bigger payout. Like, DUH.

I’m left disgusted. And as shit gets worse and worse, as I very accurately predicted it would, I will NOT let any of those people forget it. Not for a fucking minute. Nor should any of us. When the regime comes down, I think some serious public humiliation should be in order for every one of his apologists and supporters! I’m out of patience for this shit.
