Adamski’s encounters were “authentic”?

My pal Dominick was chagrinned that I used George Adamski’s “concocted” photo of a mothership disgorging flying saucers for my remarks about the SCU Tic-Tac UFO evaluation.
I was making a point but his disappointment got me to thinking that while most of us have heave-hoed Adamski’s photos, stories, and encounters, we may have been premature in assessing him a total fraud. Here’s why:
In the context of Jose Caravaca’s Distortion Theoryand Jacques Vallee’s suggestion that some UFO events are psychical in nature, a view also held by John Keel before his descent into mental conflict, we might look at Adamski’s “contacts” as being contrived by Vallee’s Other or conceived by the “external-internal” agent that Jose offers as the originator of scenarios that are a bit crazy in appearance but actually occur to witnesses as actual, sometimes “authenticated” by accompanying materials, such as soil marks, radar imagery, and photos; Billy Meier’s photos also an example.
Was Orthon a “character” from Adamski’s psyche that was produced by Caravaca’s agency?
What about other contactee “encounters”? Or some of the accounts amply provided by Albert Rosales in his Humanoid Encountersbooks?
Schizophrenics see and hear things that “normal” people don’t and are thus separated from society by those unable to fathom the idea that the schizophrenic may actually be experiencing a real event, psychical in nature but actual in reality, yet only real to the person affronted by an agency who keeps the “reality” from being perceived outside of the circle the agency wishes to hoodwink.
The Marian (Mother of God/Jesus) sightings that Jose encapsulates, as does Vallee, are further examples of a disguised reality produced for one or a few, to what purpose remains unanswered.
(Some insist such undertakings are works of the mythical “Trickster” – a concept that is barren of heft and intellectually febrile.)
If one accepts, and I do, that realities of various kinds abound within the human experience, then visions of the holy Mother of God, schizophrenic “monsters,” ET beings, paranormal entities, creatures of the id, and persons like Orthon, et cetera, may well make for the many observations and witnessed incongruities that suffuse UFO and paranormal literature.
And while many include such incongruities as hallucinatory or mad (insane), they are so fecund in human history and lore that to discard them as unreal is as irrational as the idea that reality is only what we under-privileged perceive.
So, let’s give Orthon a second look. Maybe he isn’t a total fiction from the mind of George Adamski.
