Chicago Bears HC Ben Johnson admits disappointment in win over Vikings
If you’re going off the standings, the Chicago Bears are hot before getting set to host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12.

The Bears have won three straight games and seven of their last eight contests. Chicago holds the lead in the NFC North and is trending towards a first postseason appearance since 2020.
However, the Bears have needed late fourth-quarter comebacks to beat the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, and Minnesota Vikings during the three-game winning streak.
On Sunday, the Bears improved to 7-3 via a last-second 48-yard field goal by Cairo Santos to earn a 19-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings in front of 66,952 fans at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Chicago survived another fourth-quarter letdown against J.J. McCarthy and the Vikings, who beat the Bears in Week 1 after scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Why Ben Johnson was disappointed after the win

During his postgame news conference, Bears head coach Ben Johnson expressed disappointment with some of the miscues the team had against Minnesota.
“I mean, I think there’s, there’s ups and downs in every game,” Johnson said. “There’s, there’s a few things you wish that you were a little bit cleaner on over the course of it. I think we had an illegal formation on one, and… a few drops mixed in there.
“Just those are the ones that you get disappointed in, because those are more self-inflicted than they are anything else. And so, you know, when it’s like I said, when you play a tough team like that, you need to be on your mess as much as you can.”
The Bears were the more penalized team on Sunday, being flagged six times for 40 yards. However, Chicago won the turnover battle 2-0, which helped pad the lead until the Vikings scored 14 points in the final 15 minutes.
The Chicago Bears showed improvement

Johnson noted that he saw improvement from the Bears compared to the Week 1 loss to the Vikings.
“We felt like we didn’t make enough plays there in the first game to earn that victory,” Johnson said. “And so this one what we did. So I do think that shows growth as a football team.”
The Bears are playing with fire against teams with losing records. The next three games appear much more challenging.
Chicago will play the 6-4 Steelers in Week 12 before traveling to play the Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday. The Bears will then travel to play the 6-3-1 Green Bay Packers on Dec. 7.
Chicago now has the confidence to believe it can win tight games. They’ll have to apply that skill against the league’s better teams in the coming weeks if it wants to win the division.
