BOLD PREDICTIONS: The Ravens 2025 Season
On paper, the Ravens roster is loaded with few weaknesses. But games aren’t played in the GM’s office. Winning happens between the lines. Predictions and prognostications are winding down. Now, it’s time to deliver on the promise of a great season – to turn lofty expectations into reality, one game at a time. But before the grind of the season begins, the RSR staff thought to share what we see in our crystal ball. Here are our Ravens 2025 season predictions.
Tony Lombardi
The end to the 2024 season was brutal. It was an upper cut to the collective gut of Ravens Flock. The Divisional Round loss in Buffalo was yet another huge letdown from a team that had Super Bowl ready talent that failed to deliver when it counted most – and that includes blunders by the coaching staff.
The expectations for the Ravens still run high here in Charm City, perhaps fueled by the outlook from NFL pundits across the country, save that clown Nick Wright who slobbers over the Chiefs like a newborn latching onto his mother. But I digress.
To a man, the Ravens seemingly have boulder-sized chips on their shoulders – the byproduct of disappointment. The despair that follows failure during the most crucial times. The players, the coaches, the GM and the owner are sick of it. But all that is about to change. The Ravens will have a happier ending to the 2025 season than 31 other teams.

Record prediction: 12-5
Ceiling: 14-3
Floor: 9-8
Most improved player: Travis Jones
Breakout player: Mike Green
Most disappointing: Teddye Buchanan
Comeback player: Keaton Mitchell
Looking back at last season’s predictions entering the year, a lot of the themes are remarkably similar. The team had lots of promise entering the year, but ultimately fell short in the postseason due to self-inflicted wounds. There were also questions about O-line consistency and those persist after the team stood pat with Andrew Vorhees and Daniel Faalele at starting guard.
I think the saving grace for Baltimore’s regular season squad improving from last year is going to be a more cohesive defense with Zach Orr being more comfortable in his role, as well as the additions of two big-time impact players in Malaki Starks and Mike Green. With Green able to pin his ears back and cause havoc off the edge, I think you see the kind of improvement in the pass rush over the middle that saw Nnamdi Madubuike notch double digit sacks two years ago, and I think Travis Jones becomes the beneficiary.
A small twinge of concern comes from the loss of secondary depth so early in the year which started with Ar’Darius Washington going down, followed by Bihlal Kone and Robert Longerbeam for the year, and now JAD and Beau Brade playing elsewhere. The larger concern, of course, comes from minimizing mistakes when it matters.

Will this be the year that Lamar and these Ravens finally get over the hump?
When you look at this team, there’s nothing they don’t have. They are loaded everywhere and their depth showed well in the preseason. The rookie class looks like it will be impactful. A lot of the youth they have got a lot of time last year, which will only make it better this year.
They will have one of the best offenses in football, led by the guy who arguably should be coming off another MVP season. They have a top flight backfield, led by future Hall of Famer Derrick Henry. They have solid outside weapons and the addition of future Hall of Famer De’Andre Hopkins should help in 3rd down situations and leadership for Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. The TE room is arguably the best in the league, with Mark Andrews coming back with a lot to prove. They have an o-line that should be amongst the top 10 or so in the league.
Defensively, they are loaded everywhere and another year in the Zach Orr system should do wonders for the communication issues that plagued them for the first half of 2024.
The secondary is arguably the best in football and it will be helped out by what should be a very good pass rush.
The schedule is hard, but the Ravens don’t tend to care about playing tough teams and they usually boat race them (only to lose an inexplicable clunker or two, like Vegas last year).
So, all of this means they will win the Super Bowl right? Well, as the departing Lee Corso would say..not so fast my friend!
I see two obstacles in their way:
1) Health. Yes, this is the case for all NFL teams but part of the reason last year stung so much is that some of your top aging guys stayed healthy all year. Will an aging Henry stay healthy? Can we really rely on another healthy season from Ronnie Stanley? Marlon Humphrey, who was a DPOY candidate last year, stayed pretty healthy and that hasn’t been the case in recent years. They dodged multiple Kyle Hamilton bullets (remember, we had to hold our breath several times when he went down). Does that keep up?
2) Postseason issues. There is just no way around this. Harbaugh and Lamar together have been an issue in the postseason. I think it’s been more about everyone else than it has been about Lamar, but Lamar certainly deserves some blame too. Still, this TEAM has to figure out how to win in January. They have to figure out how to beat Buffalo and KC in January. Because of the schedules they all have, Buffalo is the likely #1 seed. Can the Ravens get the #2 seed? It’s going to be tough with their schedule but it’s possible. Either way, it’s very likely that they will have to go through KC and Buffalo, somewhere, to get to the SB.
Can they do that? I believe they can but until they show me, I can’t pick it to happen.
I believe the Ravens win the AFC North and do so winning 12 or 13 games but i do think Cincinnati will challenge them. I believe they will be the #2 or #3 seed. I believe Lamar will be in the running for MVP. I have picked Kyle Hamilton to win DPOY and i think Malaki Starks will be in the running for rookie DPOY.
This is going to be another outstanding regular season filled with awards, pro bowlers and all pros…but ultimately, i think we end up viewing the season as a disappointment because they didn’t get to and win the Super Bowl.

The difference this offseason vs last year was that the Ravens kept most of their players and lost quite a bit after the 2023 season. I think this is the best roster during the Lamar era. Let’s face it the expectations have been high for the Ravens ever since the 2019 season when Lamar won his first mvp. But with every year the Ravens fall short, when it feels like they’re the best team in the league, it gets harder to believe they can do it in the playoffs. As Ravens fans we are spoiled that the team is so good and in the hunt every year. Just because they haven’t done it in the Lamar era yet certainly doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t. Block out all of the haters in the media that try to diminish Lamar’s greatness and enjoy the season. So many people want to be right and say ” I told you so, he can’t get it done in the playoffs.”
Record Prediction: 13-4
MVP: Lamar Jackson
Defensive MVP: Kyle Hamilton
Offensive MVP: Derrick Henry
Comeback Player of the Year: Keaton Mitchell
Breakout Player of the Year: Travis Jones
Rookie of the Year: Mike Green
The Ravens will win the division for the third time and be the first to do so in the division. The ceiling would be a Super Bowl championship and the floor would be a first round exit in the playoffs. I think this year the Ravens get it done and win it all.
Jared Pinder
Final Record: 13-4
While the regular season isn’t the most important thing in the world to the Ravens (or fans), I still do think they have a great one. If you take out the mistakes the Ravens made last year this record was well within their grasp. Now they get better on defense, have continuity on the staff, and have no one but themselves to blame if they can’t get it done this year.
How far they will advance: Super Bowl
Like I said in the NFL Predictions, this has to be the year for the Ravens or there need to be consequences and the hammer needs to be dropped.
Rookie of the Year: Mike Green
It was tough between Starks and Green; however, I think Green will put up the sexier stats, (Sacks, TFL, etc.) Still the Ravens are blessed to have these two in this conversation.
Most Valuable Offensive Player: Lamar Jackson
We have an easy layup here and I am not going to pass it up. Lamar is the Ravens and his success will determine how far they go.
Most Valuable Defensive Player: Kyle Hamilton
Is it weird to say that this is Kyle Hamilton’s defense now? With improvements in the back end Hamilton will now be able to play his role and the game-wrecker he is.
Breakout Player: Travis Jones
I am repeating this from last year because I actually do think he was heading down this road had he not gotten hurt. Already a great run defender, Jones’s pass rush ability took a decent step last year. I think he takes it all the way this year and gets a contract extension.
John Hughey
Season Prediction: 13-4
Floor: Wild Card Exit
Ceiling: SB Champions
Team OPOY: Mark Andrews
Team DPOY: Kyle Hamilton
Surprise Breakout: Trenton Simpson
Rookie of the Year: Mike Green
The Ravens have been viewed as Super Bowl contenders since honestly, 2019. Entering 2025, I don’t think there’s ever been more hope than there is now. Eric DeCosta delivered on some key players during the offseason, both through free agency and the draft. It’s arguably the best supporting cast around Jackson since entering the league in 2018. But with talent comes expectations, and frankly the Ravens haven’t delivered on their expectations over the past few seasons. As players enter on the final years of their deals, the vision remains the same, hoisting the Lombardi trophy in February. With little to no drama throughout the offseason, the vibe surrounding the Ravens feels different this year.
I can confidently say, I believe this is finally the year Lamar Jackson adds a Super Bowl title to his resume.
Jason Woolbert
It’s easy to predict the Ravens will be Super Bowl champions every season until they do. At some point, you have to imagine the barrier will be broken.
Record: 13-4. I envision two division losses, one loss on the road to a good team (BUF, KC, GB) and one loss that’s inexplicable. That’s a typical Ravens season these days.
Floor: If Lamar stays healthy? 11-6. Seriously. If he goes down for the season? Probably 8-9.
Ceiling: SB Champs
Offensive MVP: it’s Lamar, every season, provided he stays healthy.
Defensive MVP: Kyle Hamilton – I think this will be his best season yet.
Best Rookie: Malaki Starks could get a lot of targets (aka interception opportunities) thanks to the other options in the secondary, but I’m going to go with Mike Green, who is already the team’s best EDGE rusher.
Breakout Player: Nate Wiggins had a very good rookie season, but I think his name gets mentioned a lot more after what he puts up as a sophomore. It’s tough because this team is so loaded, the limelight will be spread around.
Biggest surprise (Good): The anxiety-inducing Offensive Guard play will be at least adequate and will not be the team’s weak link.
Biggest surprise (Bad): I’m not sure if this counts as a surprise, but the team will continue to have inexplicable penalties, delays of game / early time outs, bad snaps, etc. In other words, they’ll still get in their own way sometimes and the losses will be close and heart-wrenching.
Ultimately, the roster is so good, again, and the organization is so set, that they just need to stay healthy through the season and wins will practically take care of themselves. It’s all about the playoffs. It’s all about getting the right playoff seeding, and not turning the ball over and having random brain farts when it matters most.
Nick Polinsky
Record: 13-4
MVP: Lamar Jackson
OPOY: Derrick Henry
DPOY: Kyle Hamilton
OROY: LahJohntay Wester
DROY: Mike Green
Positive Surprise: Trenton Simpson
Negative Surprise: Andrew Vorhees
