OTL: Practice Goes Swimmingly
Tuesday’s practice was a quiet but well decorated one. While the Ravens held walkthroughs, two Baltimore legends walked through the door at 1 Winning Drive:
This is quite the Baltimore sports trio at Ravens training camp today
23-time Olympic gold medalist
2-time Super Bowl champ
2-time NFL MVP

Alongside them were a few PGA golfers, as well:
Ravens had a walk through practice this morning. Ray Lewis and Michael Phelps talking to team in post-oractice huddle. Pro golfers Chris Gotterup, Michael Kim and Andrew Novak in town for BMW Championship at Caves Vallley, also in post-practice huddle.

And of course, Michael Phelps just had to see the new swimming pool Steve Bisciotti and company had installed at the facility. If you’ll recall, he was tasked by Marlon Humphrey to teach swimming lessons for players.

Unfortunately, Phelps might not find those lessons worthwhile, as he doesn’t feel any Ravens players could be Olympic swimmers:
Who does @MichaelPhelps think on the team has what it takes to be an Olympic swimmer??
No one

With a head start, though, Kyle Hamilton gives him a run for his money:

The team had a diving contest, too. I don’t know who won, but I do know that Tyler Linderbaum lost (landing flat on your back is never fun)!

Having Ray Lewis in attendance is always special. DC Zach Orr spoke to that after practice on Tuesday, and I’m sure he’d appreciate the pump-up speech focused on intentional preparation:
“It was a surreal moment for me.”

Michael Phelps’ post-practice speech to Ravens was about his thought process as he was about to dive into pool for an Olympic race. John Harbaugh posed the question and Phelps spoke of checking all the boxes in his preparation to make sure he was at his best when it was needed.

To see that full message, along with Michael Phelps’ words of wisdom, check out the awesome clip below:

Are you ready to run through a brick wall yet? Outside of inspirational speeches and slower practices, the Ravens Flock has been talking a great deal about the fringe players, which makes sense given Week 2 of the preseason is here.
But before getting to them, I have to talk about Mike Green. NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger has always been a fan of this Ravens regime, but spoke highly of Green, in particular:
“He threw every kind of pass rush move you could throw at somebody.”@BaldyNFL likes what he saw out of the @Ravens rookie edge rusher Mike Green

However, as I’ve written in the past, the Ravens have more than just Green to think about off the edge. While Kyle Van Noy, Odafe Oweh, and Tavius Robinson appear to be locks alongside him, David Ojabo and Adisa Isaac both notched a sack against Indianapolis. Below, RSR’s Cole Jackson breaks down who was better:
David Ojabo and Adissa Isaac got AFTER IT on Thursday.
But who was better and why?

Jeff Zrebiec had a nice piece on Ojabo overcoming initial setbacks in health, as well:
“It’s my first offseason truly healthy. I feel like myself.”
Ravens’ David Ojabo is focused on playing fast, having fun.
That and observations from Monday’s practice. Is Bullock closer to roster lock than dark horse? Lamar to Hopkins. https://t.co/HcE12EkG02— Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiec) August 12, 2025
Meanwhile, 2nd Year DT C.J. Okoye is making waves and really flashed in his first preseason game. He got more praise from Orr on Tuesday:
Zach Orr said that it’s “amazing to see how far” C.J. Okoye has come. He praised the extra work Okoye has been putting in with the Ravens’ DL coaching staff.
— Nikhil Mehta (@nikknowsball) August 12, 2025
In his first game as a Raven, 6-foot-6, 370-pound CJ Okoye rocked Daniel Jones for a QB hit.
An International Pathway Program player from Nigeria, Okoye is an ascending player.
“[He's] making good use of all that size he has. He’s come light years,” John Harbaugh said. pic.twitter.com/1OxP2bSnrt
— Ryan Mink (@ryanmink) August 12, 2025
It won’t be easy for Okoye to crack the 53-man roster given Baltimore’s talent in the trenches, but depth is something fans have wanted to see more of on the interior. If Okoye continues to stack performances like this, don’t be shocked if the Ravens take a gamble on him as a developmental guy they don’t want to lose.
Lastly, former Terp Corey Bullock could make the team as the backup center to Linderbaum. After starting the game last week and performing well, OC Todd Monken shouted him out:
Todd Monken said that Corey Bullock, who got the start at center against the Colts, has “done a great job” this summer. Monken also said that Bullock worked hard to develop on the practice squad last year, calling the young lineman a “very conscientious young man.”
— Nikhil Mehta (@nikknowsball) August 12, 2025
Again, Cole Jackson has the tape:
Corey Bullock surprisingly played all of the “first team” snaps with Tyler Linderbaum not playing
This means he’s likely viewed as C2 and positioned well for the final 53.
How did it go? Can he factor into the RG battle?
Let’s dive in!https://t.co/jAfLZEIGP1
— Cole Jackson (@ColeJacksonFB) August 12, 2025
That’s all for today’s Out to Lunch, but if you needed another sign that it’s time to lock in, take Marlon Humphrey’s lead!
I’m Giving the keys to the ghost writer. I love you filthy animals. I’ll see yall in 2026.
Im gone leave yall with a random picture of me and Monk pic.twitter.com/W7B1m1xiRI
