Chicago Bears need 3 quarterback prospects stock to be higher than ever come draft time

The Chicago Bears have plenty of scenarios to run through with the 10th pick in the first round of the draft in Green Bay in two weeks. The front office loaded up in the trenches through free agency and trades last month and they’ll have plenty of flexibility in the first two days in the draft because of that.
Ryan Poles brought in the three new offensive lineman needed to protect Caleb Williams ahead of his second NFL season. Williams was sacked a league-high 68 times as a rookie last season, but the hope is that the new personnel brought in will prevent that from happening this fall.
Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson were acquired a week before free agency opened up to take care of the guard vacancies on the Bears’ roster. As soon as free agency began, the front office finalized the line by signing center Drew Dalman to a three-year deal.
On the other side of the ball, new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen got some help on his line with the additions of Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odeyingbo. Allen’s scheme thrives on getting pressure to the opposing quarterback early and often, so bringing in more pass rushing help was important to address.
The Chicago Bears can add more to their fantastic offseason so far with the 10th pick. While their top choice will likely be off the board by the time they are on the clock, they can get help in bolstering the stock of their selection from a marquee position.
Shedeur Sanders and Jaxson Dart could help the Chicago Bears
While the Bears don’t need a new quarterback anytime soon, the stock of this class can impact the 10th pick big time. Cam Ward is currently the favorite to go number one overall to the Titans, but the rest of the quarterback crop is a mystery. Some mock drafts have only one quarterback going in the first round, where others have four being taken.
Sanders is viewed as a polarizing prospect in this draft. He could go in the top ten, or not in the first round at all. With the Giants signing veterans Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, the odds of Sanders heading to New York is slim. The latest CBS mock draft has Sanders going at seven to the Jets, which is huge for the Bears.
The more demand these prospects are in the top ten, the more it effects Chicago. This means that the 10th pick will come at a higher price if nobody is on the Bears’ big board at that spot and they want to trade down. The other option would be the board shaking Chicago’s way because of more quarterbacks going before 10.
Dart is a talent who has picked up steam over the past few weeks, but CBS doesn’t have the Ole Miss Rebel in the first round. Their mock has Dart landing with the Browns at 33, but other analysts have also had him going as high as seven to the Jets.
Jalen Milroe is quietly making noise in draft circles
Milroe is without a doubt the quarterback prospect that is the most all over the place in this draft. It is highly unlikely that he ends up anywhere near the top ten, but his stock is worth monitoring over the next two weeks. It is rumored that the Steelers are a big fan of his game and they could pursue him with the 21st overall pick in the first round.
CBS has Milroe going 65th overall to the Giants, which is the first selection in the third round. The ceiling for Milroe could have an organization make the jump to take him in the first round like what the Broncos did last year for Bo Nix.
