Interest Grows in Ravens Free Agent OT

Ronnie Stanley Considers His Options
Efforts to keep hold of Ronnie Stanley, who is now a free agent, may be hampered by the fact that the offensive tackle is a wanted commodity. The 30-year-old was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2016 and is wanted by a host of teams, with his apparent replacement already being considered by the M&T Bank Stadium franchise.
Though the Ravens would appear to want to keep hold of Stanley, not least as he offers great protection for Lamar Jackson, however, the amount of price-cap space they have remaining may negate their ability to do so and among those keen on the top talent are the Washington Commanders.
The Ravens finished the regular season in 2024 with an impressive 12-5 record before taking down the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wildcard playoffs before losing to the Buffalo Bills in the divisional playoffs. Baltimore fans who feel that John Harbaugh’s side could go deeper into the postseason next time around could look to test the waters with a wager; if that’s the case, then these DraftKings promo codes will more than help sweeten the deal.
Following last season’s loss to the Bills, Harbaugh was positive about the direction his Ravens side were going in and where his future lies, having been the team’s head coach since 2008, commenting,
“I’m happy, and however that goes, I trust God,”
“I trust the people I work with every day who I love, who are my friends, but more importantly, we’re on a mission together, and as long as that goes, as long as God permits that to go, I’m all about it. I’m fired up for it, and I’m not worried about those kinds of things. They take care of themselves.”
On Stanley specifically, it appears that most reports feel an exit is on the cards, with the Commanders leading the chase to bring him in on a two-year deal worth $45 million.
Alaric Jackson from the Los Angeles Rams is seen by some as a potential replacement for Stanley, with Harbaugh apparently seeing the retention of Patrick Mekari, another free agent, as more pressing. Though for much of his time at the Ravens, Stanley has struggled with injuries, missing 36 games over four seasons, in the last campaign he looked fresher than ever.
However, a fear that this was an anomaly as opposed to the norm may be another reason why Baltimore may allow the Notre Dame graduate to leave. The New England Patriots are another team sniffing around, and apparently, they are ready to offer a huge sum to win the race.
A move to the Gillette Stadium may not be one that Stanley feels he should take, not given just how far they have fallen in the post-Brady years. Last season was the team’s first without Bill Belichick since 1999 and saw newly appointed head coach Jerod Mayo preside over a 4-13 campaign, leading to his departure and the appointment of Mike Vrabel in January, a move that may well stand the team in good stead but perhaps not enough to allay any concerns Stanley may have.
